Yesterday, did the Pickle and Mashed Potato’s in Moab. Winched once on the Pickle, and electively once on Mashed because I attempted the gravy bowl. I was close to getting out, but nope. No reason to break parts. It was either going to work, or just be a good laugh. The Pickle is a pretty insane trail. I’m pretty happy to have made it out without damage. Already drove it home to Colorado. No issues at interstate speeds. :)

I would say start with Snake, it's the easiest, some off camber and nice hill climbs and descents. If you are feeling good after that still, I'd head to Quartz Canyon, with your Willys having the LSD rear should be fine in the rock garden and I don't remember anything that a stock Jeep couldn't run on that trail. I'd probably stray away from Rubicon Ridge or Fun Run until you put at least a couple inches of lift in it (if you plan to).
@WILDHOBO was there in the last couple weeks too. Dan, anything in my assessment you think is off?
Made it through Snake in one piece ? Thanks for the tip. Weather was perfect and enjoyed driving the park. Plan to return for Quartz Canyon. ✌?

Fun at Windrock yesterday, fall foliage ride. Spent the day on easy trails, with a mixed group of Jeeps. Lots of fun, although air quality wasn't great between the smoke from local wild fires and the dust from lack of rain...

This morning we got up early to use the few hours rental we had left to wash the upstairs windows.
It's muzzleloader season here now, so I always keep a gun at the ready in the kitchen.

This isn't the kitchen.

Yesterday we headed out East of Phoenix and traipsed up the Montana Mountain trail.

We went with a group that had 18 rigs signed up on their website. We ended up with 54 vehicles! We found ourselves doing a lot of sitting still and this added about 2 - 2.5 hours to the total trip time. Some of the vehicle operators were out for their first time ever and needed quite a bit of help from spotters to navigate through the hazards. Some of the older rigs had mechanical and cooling issues so we stopped and helped them get going. We didn''t leave anybody behind until their problem was solved or a recovery was completed.

We had a great time with the group and the trail was definitely the most technical I have driven to date since buying the Gladiator. We three-wheeled it a couple of times but took no tire, wheel or body damage. There were lots of large rocks embedded in the trail, deep ruts, plenty of very uneven spots, lots of washouts on the edge of the shelf roads and some very steep inclines. There were a few times when Mrs. rolled up her window as she didn't want to see over the edge of the trail down into the canyon below. I'm afraid I took advantage of her concerns when we were tipped over towards her side. I'd tell her, "Lean towards me, dear, and we might make it." I'm such an A-hole sometimes... LOL

It was fun and I plan to go back with a smaller, more capable, group. The Mrs. has decided the trail is not for her but she is willing to hit some of the more benign trails we've already been on.

Towed my 22 foot travel trailer. Swore I would never do it with the Gladiator but my 25 year old Chevy 3500 sprung a radiator leak on a trip and didn't want to risk it. So the Gladiator went on a rescue mission to bring the trailer home from the campsite. Uphill was definitely "the little engine that could" but it got the job done.

p.s. if anyone ever needs a brake controller in a pinch because you don't have a box installed on your rig, I picked this up since I was in a bind with the Gladiator not having a controller and I was surprised how well it worked. https://www.curtmfg.com/dm/echo-mobile-brake-controller

The echo works great. I’ll never wire another controller as long as I live.

Edit: The only problem is that I seem to lose mine just about every time I want it. The phrase, “I know I put it in the tongue box”, is starting to be a broken record. I swear it’s getting it’s own air tag. Clearly this is my problem, and not a Curt design issue. :)

Yesterday I hauled home 7 bags of underlayment since home depot couldnt get their shipping right.

Here is the result. Instead of turkey today was work. Definitely not a one person job. Nearly broke my back and tore ankle ligaments 5 times trying to mix and pour before it set up. But way nicer than the 100 yr old concrete with fist sized rocks and not at all level or smooth.

Yeah. Having another person just to help mix while I poured and leveled would have made the end result perfect. I have a few ridges and holes because doing it solo is just not advisable. But it is way better than before and will be covered up anyway. Right now Im trying to decide if I want to just leave it raw or paint it Before laying down the gym flooring. I dont want to do an epoxy even though those look awesome because I have 3 more sections to do and that epoxy is super hard to remove if it doesnt go on perfect.

But this is something I shoulda done 2 years ago, bummer it ended up landing on yesterday. Today is a bluebird day tho so some outside work is in order.

It fully set overnight.
