I crashed my hardtail 29 so decided to go big with a full suspension 29er. Giant Trance X. I’m a sucker for orange now since I got the Mojave.

Camping this weekend near Great Sand Dunes National Park. It’s not impossible that I may have ridden a sand board down a 100’ steep-ass slope with a legit cornice at the top. I had it until the bottom when I started leveling out. Then I crashed hard. No regrets. Super fun. Sprained ankle, scratch on my nose, and some soreness. Worth it.

Good stuff! It and my Blanca are on my list, but this weekend was about family camping. Only 3 hours from home, so another time.

Hauled my ‘46 Willys to its new home. Sold it to a very nice older gentleman who runs a military museum at a local American Legion Post. I hope to visit it there one day.

Today I tackled this boulder in front of my oldest daughter’s house.

I tried this about a month ago but didn’t air down. This time I aired down and have since added the Apex Autolynx which gave me more front end traction and I climbed up pretty easily.

I’m a “Kayak Mule”! Picked up a couple kayaks one to deliver and the yellow Deuce coupe is my attempt at breaking the “Divorce yak” name given to tandem kayaks! The man always has to sit in back to steer and the wife is always not paddling hard enough or out of sync and banging paddles, guys it’s a real thing I have seen it!
I truly love my wife Pat, I am very lucky, but she can not paddle straight to save her life, I think she has a short arm or something but it is fun to watch her go in circles. My plan is of course the man in the back with the paddle, with the ONLY paddle ,problem solved did two hours paddling her around the bay went well, great riding kayak low to water perfect, I Jack have broken the curse guys, your welcome!…..Jack

PS: After bay put kayak on stern front fit much better, more clearance with roof of jeep. You are looking at 67” width of kayaks on my cap trick is visible from the side view with yellow kayak, Yakima boat loader bars in rails come out three feet to help load kayaks , but I run with them out just enough about six inches perhaps to fit wide kayaks on. Again never under estimate an old man and his Jeep!

Dropped the kids off. Used 4 flipper high to get off the beach.

Went to the Marin County Fire Department Hand Crew Readiness Drill to help proctor different drills. Fun time driving the Mojave on the fire roads. Really like the auto 4WD and wish my Rubicon had it.

Sunday did Dishpan Springs. Think it is the hardest trail in Big Bear that I know of.
Did pretty well but took out my already-broken taillight on the Gatekeeper, and once I was past the last/biggest obstacle at the end I somehow got totally turtled on a big boulder positioned right after a squeeze.
