No, biodiesel isn't the issue. As a matter of fact, B2 (2% biodiesel) outperforms most aftermarket fuel additives in lubrication. Biodiesel was mentioned due the possibilities of water intrusion. The processing and storage of biodiesel can result with more water, so Bosch or FCA is being cautious about running higher amounts of biodiesel.

I own and operate three EcoDiesel trucks with the CP4 (2015, 2020, and 2023). I run biodiesel at every fill-up. I've never had a fuel related issue. I run biodiesel for the lubrication, but I also run Hot Shot's Secret EDT for the higher cetane and as fuel injector cleaner.
What value of bio are you running?

As a heavy diesel mechanic I've seen my share of issues related to the use of bio. I'll admit it was ostly in older stuff.
My 2015 Cummins definitely didn't like B20. Power and fuel mileage was down noticeably. On clear/B5 I could pull our camp trailer roughly 200 miles to a Campground and then run around for 3 or 4 days before filling up to head home. On B20 I'd need to fill up the first day after getting to the same camp and then I'd top off before heading home to be safe.
Haven't run enough B20 in the ecodiesel to know how it reacts.

I fill up at Love's 98% of the time here in New Mexico and throughout the United States. Our 2015 Ram EcoDiesel holds 66 gallons of fuel and the 2020 Ram EcoDiesel holds 70 gallons, so this allows us to come across a Love's just about wherever we go.

Love's advertises their biodiesel percentages on their website. Locally, I run B5. But when traveling, I see everything from B5, B10, B15, B18, and B20 at the various Love's. I mostly see B20 in California and B15 - B20 in Texas and Kansas. New Mexico, where I live, is a mixed bag of B5, B10, and B15.

I mostly do a lot of towing, but I can get 28 - 29 mpg running Love's fuel when I'm not towing. My best long distance fuel economy was running from Gallup, NM to Pratt, KS (667 miles). We averaged 29.7 mpg running B5.

California has a 55mph towing speed limit. We averaged 14.8 mpg running B20 towing this travel trailer:

We dont have biodiesel where I'm located but if I did, why take the risk?
There's very little risk if you understand what the issue is. Independent labs have verified that fuel found throughout the USA is not the same quality. The CP3 pump can handle a lot of subpar fuel, but the CP4 cannot. This is why I run fuel from Love's. Love's has put a lot of money into biodiesel and renewable diesel. They take pride in good quality fuel.

If biodiesel was an issue, then the poor folks in Minnesota would be in trouble. Minnesota has a state law that requires B20.

Here's my fuel filter log for my 2015 and 2020 Ram 1500. Keep in mind, Ram's fuel filter recommendation was 30,000-mile intervals before they revised it. I'll be changing the fuel filter in the 2020 for the second time sometime in the next two months.

Even Ram/Jeep knows that fuel quality isn't the same from state to state.

That information is outdated per the recall documents.
Jeep also informs no additive is required.
I'm personally not in the business of trusting warranty information. All they care about is getting you to the end of the powertrain warranty.

The factory 10 year/150,000-mile coolant in my 2015 EcoDiesel was flagged for being nearly out of spec at 6 years/94,993 miles. ZF, the manufacturer of our transmission recommends 62,000-mile fluid changes, but Mopar recommends 100,000-mile changes. We already know that the 10,000-mile owner's manual oil change recommendation isn't the best recommendation either. So yes, it's best to look at the data and stop listening to what Ram and Jeep is recommending for the time being.
