Well today was rather frustrating and the first time I have had a really weird and confusing issue with a vendor. Several weeks ago I ordered from quadratec the Warn 101335 bumper, with the 101445 skid, along with a few other things one of which was a Superwinch 10K synthetic (for the rear). Well, a couple weeks ago I contacted asking for an update, no update on the warn bumper but the winch they said was several weeks or a month out. So I canceled that part of the order. Then last week comes along and I get an email about an issue with the payment method. After talking with them they said sometimes if a purchase is in the system for too long the payment method will automatically get kicked out. Not sure how that is a thing but ok. So we verified the info was exactly the same. That was early last week. Well Wednesday rolled around and there was still no update, but the order was marked on their system with 'security check'. So I contacted again, and was told it was sent to the billing department - yet nobody could get ahold of anyone in that department to figure out what was going on. So I was told to 'wait' until next week and call back if there is no change. Hmm.... The crazy thing was by this time the bumper had been in stock for a few days. I suggested we just cancel the order, and I go and make a new order but being 'in line' it was suggested not to do that with an unknown amount of stock and other people waiting for the same item. By this time I was frustrated and gave Northridge a call to see if they could do better. They didnt, at that time, have an idea when those items would are in stock themselves. So fast forward through the weekend and I call again this morning. Same story. Something isn't working, billing seems to be 'sitting' on it with no way to contact them or figure out what is going on and no feedback of what to do. The rep this time said they would call me back in a few hours, and did, saying they have no idea what is going on and was not able to get ahold of anyone in billing. Buy this time I contacted Warn directly via email asking if they had any in stock themselves, explaining the situation, to see if I ordered from a different vendor if they could get them. They did have them in stock and available to ship immediately for specific distributors, not sure who that would be. So I also was seeking other sources. 4wp, and of course Amazon. So af few hours later, I call and speak with a different person who gave more of the story. They said that billing attempted to process payment a few more times and it kept getting declined. However - I received no notification, no call, no email, so kinda suspicious to me. While on the phone with this person, I was randomly googling the part number, and you would never believe that a vendor on Amazon had 9 in stock, and one or two of the skid plates (nobody else has the skid plate and they are several weeks out apparently). So I told the person on the phone to just cancel the order and that I will purchase elsewhere. Of course they apologized, and I was confused as to what was going on. So, for a cheaper price than anyone else, and an estimated delivery of this Friday...... here we go.
I do honestly suspect that this will not end favorable. But it's worth a try I suppose, at 200-300 cheaper than other sources. We will see.
This is the first time I have had an issue with quadratec, usually they have in the past done an excellent job at getting things my way with zero issues at all. They even before honored a sale of an item a few days after the sale ended because I was going through a surgery. But this time, communication was just terrible. It was significantly easier and faster to just cancel the order than it was to try and figure why the original order was having issues. And props to Northridge who made phone calls directly to warn to try and figure out availability. Although the info Northridge got back to me with was different than what warren themselves said. No doubt there is still issues with supply. But I must say with honesty that up until this point, I have been absolutely amazed as to how fast things I have ordered from all sorts of different places have arrived to my doorstep. So this was hopefully a one time thing, but time constraints warranted trying a different route. Hopefully Amazon pulls through.
