And most of us have a pretty good idea what that insulting offer would be around.

The answer has been given by a couple of pages worth of people so far but you just don’t like it. Put whatever price you want. We won’t be surprised if you don’t get $50k.

KBB Charleston zip code, since your profile says SC, 24 Sport S standard equipment 14000 miles very good condition private party $37,000 average estimate. Trade in average about $34k and because I’m an experienced buyer I know you’d be lucky to get offered over $31k right now so I’d think $35k was more realistic for yours before upgrades.

Now if I know around what those mods would cost I figure $4000 - 6000 for upgrades that are now used and would make the Jeep not be covered under Mopar factory warranty for most of the things that might go out during the warranty coverage period. So $40k is a friendly offer. But you’re thinking that’s $10k into lowball territory. So here goes…

So gears are a couple grand installed. Maybe more, maybe less depending on the shop. Lift is ballpark $7000 all in for the top level Clayton lift package installed if thats the one you got. Add a couple grand for rims and tires unless you thought a $5k tire and rim package was a good deal. Add some cosmetic bits and steering upgrades. So maybe you’re in the neighborhood of ten grand if your frugal shopper, maybe higher if your not. Your loss not mine. All of the above is now used parts on a used vehicle that is now not likely to get warranty coverage for anything that fails that could even be remotely considered related to the modifications.

I’m speaking from experience having sold six moderate to heavily modified Jeep, Wranglers and XJ’s, in the last twenty years.

So… numerous posters here have tried to answer your question. You just don’t like the answer. So list it for $50k. Hell ask $60k if you want. Maybe a Nigerian prince will buy it.
Clayton 2.5” RR per the first post. Ride Right. It’s the least expensive Clayton kit.

IF YOU END UP PUTTING EVERYTHING BACK TO STOCK, I think I am willing to buy most of the stuff like the lift kit, wheels tires if those are 37's, gears etc etc. Just wanted to throw it out there.
I doubt he would re-gear it back to stock . That is another expense.

He is kind of stuck IMHO.

First, I would like to say how nice your truck looks. I think your truck will attract more interest because it's a very good neutral build, most don't even come with updated gearing. I for one would consider this a BIG plus when buying, assuming it was done professionally.

It's just a tough market right now, the values have come down. Having said that I think you should be able to get 40K.

Good Luck with the sale!!

I pay cash for my rigs, and when I bought my 2014 Rubicon X, I spent over $20k on upgrades, as I wanted it to be capable for any trail I wanted to run. After buying my Gladiator in January, I sold my 2014 for $15,000, $70,000 spent for $15k sale value, and spent a fair amount of the sale money on the new gladiator.

My point here is that no one should modify their Jeep thinking about resale, as resale is a dry well. Modifications should be made for YOUR enjoyment, nothing more as mods are worth almost nothing on resale and can make a Jeep harder to sell.

Oooo, I probably shouldnt have said that since I dont know much about the mechanics and what not but yeah good to know that. Now if i do get 4.88s, i cant keep my stock ones to put em back on one day incase something like this happens?? Even though I am planning on driving this jt till it doesnt drive anymore, which even then I might start new parts on all over again.

You could put your old gears back in, but if it cost you $3K labor or so to put the 4.88's in, that is about what it will cost to put the old gears back in. That makes it expensive to go back to stock when it comes to gears.

Makes total sense, with that being known, yeah i'd probably never go back either then. Shoutout to you. Well OP, good luck.

Yeah, two differentials to open up, axles to pull, carriers to pull out, pinions to pull out, and more. It's "labor intensive" taking time.

Late to the party but here I am…

Add-ons are worthless in the aftermarket to 99% of the buying public. Take a Sport S that the dealer slapped a lift, wheel/tire package and winch on prior to selling along with a $8k addendum.

When trying to trade in or sell the vehicle you’ll lose not recoup the initial $8k investment.

Sometimes they just installed what they had. A friend of mine bought a new Grand Cherokee and one seat was Overland and one was Overland Sunmit. Sounds crazy, but it happens.
It's not necessarily a matter of "what they have" as much as a mess-up in staging.

My father was in manufacturing, and guys who worked for AMC before the rape and pillage by Iacocca have said they had mistakes, but it wasn't "we just tossed on whatever we had".
That line keeps moving and you'd better have a good reason to stop things.

The orders and inventory are very controlled. But - sometimes GI-GO happens, human error and so on.

We spent years and years trying to dispel the "whatever they had" concept. OF course things can happen, but.......... these days of "just in time" inventory, it's pretty tight and they don't usually have things laying around to use up.
I fought that later one for electric components on certain cars years ago. I had the documents from the board of directors of one of the suppliers, the cut-off date for the model change of the item and more - but people still insisted "left-over parts were used from the prior model year". I kept asking for specific examples, and no one could ever show any. When the supplier says "we're cutting that model off at of April xxxx" it's not going to end up in the next model year cars (not to mention that part was date coded and every one of them we've ever seen had a date within 1 month of the assembly of the vehicle. That's how "just in time" it was. 2 to 4 weeks, 3 typical, before the car was made, the part arrived for it at the factory.

Trade In ??? Lol there is nothing left when I am done with a rig hahah. Honestly if you buy a Jeep and you are already worried about trade value .... You won't have real fun with it!

Indeed. Bought my Mohave in 21. Drove for a year and 6k miles. Sold it for $1500 more than I paid. That had never happened before and prob never will again.

To the OP....u think it's worth 50k? Ask 50K. You don't need our permission. maybe you'll get it. Good starting point for negotiations, if nothing else.

Can tell you I don't pay for somebody else's mods because I don't trust them. Oh sure, they'll tell ya "professionally installed by XXX". And sometimes, maybe that's even true.

But I don't trust XXX, either.....
F’ing Vin diesel 🤦‍♂️
