What do you use your JSCAN for?

It was set to those values from the factory on mine. I didn't change them. Those are the default factory and recommended settings.
I suspect yours controls the high beams in town, at intersections and so on instead of dropping to low beam in town, stop signs/stop lights, etc.

Anyway, those are the settings I got from a Jeep programmer person, and what mine actually came with from the factory (even though it wasn't enabled - likely they were prepping it for the December release of that feature)

If there are street lights they will not enable, they will only enable in dark or minimally lit environments. They will enable and disable at a stop if the lighting is minimal or dark and not just when in motion.

Yes, they'll show enabled or disabled when you start the truck in a dark garage and the headlights come on. They'll say "enabled". If you then pull out into the light and stop and the headlights turn off, they say disabled and that's a DUH because the headlights are also off.

Mine will auto dim when you get down to under 20 kph or about 12.5 mph.
Then they won't go back to bright or high beam until a road speed of 25 kph or about 15 mph.

Stopped they will say enabled or disabled as the headlights turn on or off in auto mode. That's normal no matter what you put in there because it shows when the lights turn on or off automatically.

I'd bet yours stay bright when you come up to a stop sign or stop light unless other conditions cause them to go to dim.
Mine will stay in dim or low beam until I reach 15 mph. Then they function in full automatic mode.

I have used the Jscan for the following:

• Speedometer correction (after going up in tire size)
• LED fog lights
• Automatic headlight sensor (after I tinted my windshield)
• Remove the start stop page from cluster screen

Things I wish the Jscan had(and might, but my reading comprehension sucks)

• Remove the start up warning screen on the main Uconnect
• Remove other pages (like I could with the start stop one) from the cluster screen
• Make the Uconnect screen go back to the radio app after using the phone

They should work just fine.
The difference is when I slow down to 12 mph, they dim and stay there until I reach 15 mph then they go to high beam again. No message - because they are enabled, it's just that when I slow do 12 mph they dim and then go back to high beam as I leave the little town of Pleasantville and speed back up to 15 and over.
My bet is that if you are out on a dark desert highway, cool wind in your hair, and slow down to 12 or less - yours will keep high beam on.

When I get into town, mine switch to low beam and stay there as long as I am going under 15 mph.
That is what the threshold settings are.

My wife's Grand Cherokee are set exactly like mine and her's came FACTORY that way. My son's Compass has them and same for him - when he slows as approaching a stop sign, his switch to low beam until he takes off again.
His Compass is about 3 or 4 years old, my wife's Grand Cherokee is a 2021.

I asked my son - and I checked with my wife on hers.
So all three Jeeps in our family have settings like my JT.

In any case, regardless of speed threshold and so on - apparently it works fine for you, no issues?
It works great on mine, my son loves it and my wife wanted to make sure her new GC came with it - and found out it's standard on her model.
We live in a rural area with a lot of hills, curves, backroads and so on and sometimes I swear I was going to wear out that lever switching from high to low beam and back again, then around the next curve doing it all over again.

Just leave the extension in place. You need to remove the bypass cable.
But with the extensions it takes seconds, literally. It's very easy with 'em.
If you want to MONITOR, say you want to watch for misfires, read codes, NOT make changes, you can simply plug the Bluetooth OBD connector to the normal OBD port.

My bypass cable is still in place but the vgate is not. What is the downside to leaving it there? I need to order the extension, really two, one for each Jeep.


edit: I just saw posts 37, 37, 39, and 42. I will remove the cable this week and pick up the extensions.
