Anyone who gets the inverter, gets an outlet on the back of the console. If the Trail Rail package is added, an outlet is included in the bed with an on/off switch in the cab. The single 400 watt inverter powers both outlets. The inverter only works when the ignition is on. The USB ports will stay on, after the ignition is off, if there are active devices drawing power. Otherwise, they also turn off with the ignition.
I don't have the bed inverter, or the trail rail. I just have the outlet in the back of the console. They must have changed the combos at some point. But good to know on how it works with power off. I've only used it to power my small compressor.

So far on camp outs, I can vouch all plug types in the cab turns off after a short while. I have the 8.4" nav package. My Jackery and Dometic can't get continuous charge overnight, as designed I suppose to prevent dead batteries. Question is, adding the 400W in the bed will still shut off, correct?

Right now I'm using the solar panels for the Jackery (small one 300) for daily recharges, so can power the freezer over each night. Any other ideas?

The outlet in the bed is not an additional 400 watt inverter. It is just an extension of the cab outlet, with a separate on/off button. It loses power when the interior outlet shuts off.

Whenever the engine is running, the outlet can be used to charge the portable power pack. Otherwise, it is solar panels or another power source to charge it.

I just have the 7 inch screen, so maybe it is standard now (or was in February 2021). I thought all gladiators had them. Just wondering why you chose to use a 12v outlet instead. Maybe the back seat one shuts off after 30 minutes too, I don't know.
The 12v outlet on my jump pack never shuts off. Put a USB adapter in it and you can run a whole lot of USB stuff off the 12v battery in that jump pack all night.

The truck's USB stuff shuts off after a while, but the inverter actually requires to leave the truck in ACC or RUN mode! So the inverter is a non-starter.

The inverter only is on when the truck is in ACC or RUN mode - who wants to have the thing in ACC mode all night........ and in RUN mode with the engine not running, it reverts to OFF after several minutes so you can't leave it in RUN mode.

Actually, no - you can't use them to charge anything unless the draw is pretty hefty. They shut off after 60 minutes.
I've been there, done that. I've tried to charge our stuff and my hearing aids and I'd go out an hour later and nothing was working. I had to hit the ign switch and turn it off again to get the USB ports to work again for another hour.

I've proven the book correct a few times, rats - they DO shut off even with a phone and other stuff all plugged in. We lost power for almost a week in 2020 and the Jeeps were our only way to charge our phones and my hearing aids for a couple of nights.

Trail rail gets the bed plug, always has. The plug in the console was previously only available with the 8.4, but now it's included with the 7".

I really wish I had one - while camping I could recharge my hearing aids, recharge portable lights, recharge my battery pack I use to power other stuff. Otherwise I have to plug an adapter into my the 12v outlet in my jump pack to charge my hearing aids over night because the truck's USB ports keep shutting off after 30 minutes or so.
There are solutions for your problem. I ordered something that I found here that keeps your 12 volt charger powered continuously. I will find the link and post it here for you. It was about 20, installed in 5 minutes and worth every penny.

That's how I recall it with my feeble memory.......... but I thought when I ordered my 2020 back in October 2019 that you could get the bed outlet setup without ordering the whole trail package. Could be wrong - that was like in the last decade - an eternity for me.

Try this solution. It will keep your cigarette lighter always hot. That may help solve some of your hearing aid issues.

I hope this is useful.

I have now added this to both of my current jeeps.
Thanks - but I've actually removed the 12v outlet to install the brake controller in my 2020 and will likely do the same for this 2022. I liked the 12v outlet going off with the ignition because I powered things like my Christmas wreath and other stuff through it that I wanted to be off when I shut down so I'd not forget and leave it powered up.
I have a device that plugs into the round trailer connector in the back that turns that into a 12v outlet, and I can plug a USB adapter into that, or can plug a cigarette lighter USB adapter into my jump pack 12v outlet.

Ideally I'll likely run power into the bed eventually. I'll either power that via one of the aux switches, or using some other means.
I have to run a wire to the back for my bumper mounted LED backup lights anyway so was actually considering running a 4 wire cable to the rear so I'd have wires back there for the future.

O.P. good question I wondered what people was using it 110 v bed power for too, but didn't think that it was sufficient for much of anything. 400w inverter is quite likely to limited for most tools. Heck I've got at least 4 or 5 from 300w to 2000w, in past I used one for powering laptop, printer and camcorder. I got or had a few hundred hours of "Overlanding" in Europe on videos tape. My buddy and I stopped in camping areas. Pull out gear, coolers with whatever group was there, pulling out "American" Budwiser then just pulling the cap off was a hell of a ice breaker. :)
Damn good thing U-tube wasn't a thing in 80s thru 90s ?

I wired a 12v outlet (cigar lighter style) into the bed, and switched with an AUX switch. I charge my Jackary with the outlet, and the fridge is always plugged into the Jackary. I use solar when I'm at camp to maintain the charge, instead of the truck.

I’m currently set up with a battery pack in the bed running the fridge when parked. When driving, I run the fridge and charge the battery pack at the same time from the 400W plug.

I didn’t get the 115v bed outlet on my 2021 JTR. I have the 8.4” radio. I have the outlet in the back seat. I have the 400 watt inverter. Did not come with the outlet in the bed. However I added it myself with Mopar parts after purchase. I tested it out after install & lit up a house lamp with it, tried a Vacuum would not work. Haven’t used it since. I saw that a Traeger grill will work or possibly a griddle, a radio, but nothing with a motor load, charging batteries should work, would be handy for charging a drill or chainsaw but not sure if it would do it.
