Thanks, I didn't even realized I posted that question. I was thinking about it, got busy and then when I responded to the fenders I see half my question is still there. I thought you were reading my mind.

Since you knew that, any chance you know the weight of the either wheel, standard or upgraded? Looking at wheels currently as well, unsprung and rotating mass weight is even more important than the bumper weight.

I had to look it up actually. You asking made me curious. Not sure I'd be able to find the wheel weights as I don't believe they're offered separately.

Any one know the weight of the front bumper (steel)? That might help determine if I go afterm

The black fades on the fenders, the top not as much. Unless they changed material recently. Although the black fenders fade they don't chip and scratch on the trail the way the painted ones do.
Thanks!!

It’s manual, I tried it at the auto show.
Good to know, thanks! That means there should only be a connection for the defroster. No other electrical, and no fluid. I think.

Come to think of it, I've never seen a button or switch that could be used for the beer window, so that makes sense.

You know with the stow n go seating, we can actually fit more sheets of plywood in our pacificas then the JT.
You think you have to stop stacking plywood at the top of the bed-rails? Heck no, just keep stacking and strapping. I guarantee the JT has a higher payload rating than the Pacifica...

My biggest issue is waiting on a diesel or going with a gas burner..... with neither an option right now it's easy to say I'll wait but in about 2 months when these things are driving around it will be much harder.

Also... may sound dumb but I like the high clearance fenders and wheel/tires on the Rubicon but feel like an Overland is more my speed. I wonder if you can swap the fenders out?

I remembered another dilemma. Transmission. If max tow costs 20 grand, and how can it be cheaper, axles, upgraded bits, then maybe a little shifting in a manual overland would be happy... Waiting on price of Max Tow.

Yeah, Mopar sells the Rubicon fenders for the JL

Overland or Rubi? The Rubi looks bad-ass already, the Overland needs tires and wheels to look great. But I'll never rock crawl so the Rubi is a waste of money.

The 2 options that I am struggling with are:

1 - LED Light Package
2 - REMOTE PROXIMITY KEY-LESS ENTRY

For the light package i live the look of them but also the functionality...they are so much brighter and theoretically you dont have the ever replace them right? I have not had LED headlights before.

And for the proximity entry, since all the jeeps are push start now there is no spot for my key. My thought was this way I never have my key leave my pocket. My fear is if I had to get my keys out to unlock the door i would set them down in the Jeep and forget to grab them when I turn the car off.

Thoughts?

I'm an overland with some options and with these it brings me to $45,100 out the door after taxes, discounts and fees.

LED lights should last 15 years or so. Totally worth it for the brightness; the longevity is a bonus.

I'm so used to proximity entry that it's basically a must for me. I love not having to take out my key ever. Plus there's always one that gets lost in my wife's cavernous purse.

GET REMOTE PROXIMITY! How much is it on the JL?

I've never had this until my Pacifica, it ROCKS! I walk up to car with keys in pocket, grab door handle, car unlocks. Hop in, press on brake, push button start. Drive to the store, its fricken cold out so I wanna leave the car run for 5 minutes. Put car in park, hop out, press unlock/lock button on drivers door. Car is locked (but running) walk away, car beeps 3 times telling you, you left me running and you've got the keys!

Come back out, keys still in pocket, grab door handle, it unlocks.

It is SO convenient. Especially if you have 2 drivers that use the car. Each fob can be programmed to your seat, side mirror and Radio pre-sets. When i walk up to my Pachy and it unlocks, it starts moving the seats and mirrors to my preset, and the last radio station I was listening to starts playing. LOVE IT!

EDIT: OMG, its only $495. Totally worth $495 for convenience in my opinion. I'm sure others will bawk? balk? at that cost, but for me, its worth $49 / year if i own the truck for 10 years. Then when you sell it, its more marketable.

Agree that proximity entry is great. One issue I have with the JL, and sounds like JT too, is that since the seats aren't power, it won't automatically adjust seat position from memory. My wife is < 5', so if I try and get in a car after she's been driving, I can't even sit in the vehicle without adjusting it first. With proximity, as soon as I unlock the seat starts moving to my position. But my wife also said she probably won't drive the JT if I buy it, so not so much of an issue after all. ;)
