My 88 YJ had a nice char mark under the hood from the factory carb. Once I upgraded to a Motorcraft carb it solved the problems with backfiring/fires.
Mine was usually the alternator that caught fire. It finally caught fire while moving it from Oregon to South Dakota. We towed it to a jeep lot and bought our JK. My cousin is a mechanic and lived nearby so he picked it up and got it running. He sold it to a guy who wanted to do an engine swap. He stored it in a barn. The barn mysteriously caught fire with the jeep in it. Ultimately she died how she lived, on fire.

Jeeps? This is my fourth. Cars in general? I don’t even know. I’d have to add it up. 30-40 probably. Women? I plead the fif.

Wow, that's kinda personal. 😳 Oh you mean Jeeps :giggle::LOL:

My first 91 MJ in 91 ordered after Desert Storm, second 90XJ in 99 on a whim dealership gave it to me as a loaner for months. "Desert Fox." So I bought it after having driven it 4000 miles. 3rd, 4th, and 5th 89 XJ parts, 87-89 MJ few projects, another XJ of early 90s parts. I had a "dealership" looking for me a used 91" for a few years. While running small arms ranges for 4 days decided I wanted the new 05 Wrangler Unlimited, and certain things on it and that year. Went to dealership afterwords they located it M.T. soft top in dark Green picked up end of week in 05. Driving the #### out of it, rumors of Jeep putting out a pickup for years. I put in order for a Renegade was about to take delivery decided not to. 2017??? Rumors of Jeep pickup become available in 2019, after a buddy of mine abruptly died in June. Then I had a bad month in Jan 2020 stopped in dealership gave them a work up on it picked up on way back to work 2 days later. 2017-2019 had a number of buddies and people I knew pass away so I said f### it.
So really 5 that I had tags, insurance and drove around. So basically another Jeep for most of my big deployments. I missed a few but picked up a 4wheeler, boat, MTN bike or something else.

Well since some are listing ALL their vehicles and not just Jeeps, then...

1964 Buick Special (toasted the engine because I didn't know to prime the oil pump after changing the oil). 1972 Oldsmobile Toronado. 1983 Plymouth Reliant. 1983 Chevy Caprice Classic. 1988 Eagle Premier (nice looking car, V-6 had tons of power but, what a piece of junk). 1988 Toyota 4Runner. 1988 Subaru Legacy Wagon AWD (you could do things in the snow with that car you couldn't do on dry road with any other car). 1994 Chevy Silverado Xtra cab 4x4. Then comes the Jeeps. 1995 XJ Sport. 1993 ZJ Laredo I-6. 1996 Ram 1500 Xtra cab 5.2L 4x4 (another piece of junk). 1996 ZJ Laredo I-6. 1998 Ford Exploder with the 4 no engine (totaled by some moron hitting me). 2003 WJ Laredo I-6 (totaled). 2002 WJ SE 4.7L. 2008 GC Overland (Hemi). 2011 GC OVerland (Hemi). Current ones...2019 GC Ltd. 2020 Gladiator Overland (ordered 5/19, delivered 7/19).

Although I've been a Jeep owner 14yrs, I've only had two Jeeps.
My bodies include a 2011 JKUR and 2024 JTRX.
I am only Jeep 16 and 17 right now.
Some of my most memorable ones were:
My first one.
A 1949 CJ-2A
My first new one.
A 1980 Jeep Gladiator J-20
My first Diesel.
A Jeep Liberty.
My first Wagon.
A Jeep Commander.
Now I have a 2021 Wrangler Willys and a 2022 Gladiator Rubicon.
You can never be to old to drive a Jeep.

Loving Life
Four Jeeps.
Factory ordered a 1979 CJ7 Renegade hardtop, very fun and capable vehicle.
More than my share of chics where I worked wanted a ride in it.
Fun in the snow, creek fording, power line trails in Pike and Wayne Counties, PA.

Then a long hiatus until after I retired.
Mentioned to the wife that I would love to have a Jeep again
and she said go for it.

So I bought a used 2018 JLUR MT, traded that on a 2023 Gladiator JTR auto new off the dealer lot,
and currently in a 2024 Gladiator JTR X package auto new off the dealer lot.

Too Many - Mainly due to stupidly switching away from Jeeps a bunch of times. Then regretting it a few months later...

I think I am up to 13 Jeeps since 1997:
Mostly Wranglers and now Gladiators, but also
A 1994 Grand Cherokee - Super Rare manual transmission option
A Jeep KJ Liberty - They get a bad wrap, but it was actually a tough little Jeep
