Where is the Sirius satellite antenna and what does it look like?

I am considering getting Sirius when I order my JT, but would like to understand better where the antenna for it is located and what it looks like?

My 2015 Ram has it near a back corner of the cab roof and it is fairly flat and unobtrusive; I've seen some others on other makes and models that's shaped like a sharkfin, which, to my eye, looks awful.

I am also curious ahow it is placed on the JT in light of the various removable top options, though I guess they must have figured out solutions to that on the Wranglers.

With the reception quality I normally get with sat radio in this truck, I'd look for a lead lined box on the undercarriage somewhere.

I think on the new JT's it's embedded in the front windshield. My 2025 Mojave X has the antenna in the front windshield; on the factory window sticker it says: "Integrated Windshield Antenna".

Yep, integrated antenna in the front windshield on my 26 JT as well. Not that we get satellite radio in AK anyway. 🫤

Why don’t you get satellite radio in Alaska? Do they orbit too low on the horizon? I never knew that.

Yep, signal isn’t clear / unobstructed enough plus we have mountains everywhere. Big, tall mountainous mountains!

There are a few spots where you can get a signal apparently, but I’ve never bothered trying to hunt it down.

We have good cell phone coverage now and it’s good enough for streaming in / around most urban areas. But there are plenty of roads / trails where you encounter dead spots as well.

In fact I’m wondering if that’s something to do with why my Jeep didn’t record a recent Trail Log I tried to make.

Oh he already did. Satellite internet has been a thing up here for years, especially for the more remote villages.

But I’m assuming Sirius just didn’t invest in that kind of coverage.

The windshield antennas are only for am/fm as far as I know (they no longer have a whip am/fm ant), the siriusXM is in the same spot (on top of the soundboard. The bigger box on top of the soundbar is for your gps/cell hotspot.

I’m doing some more research as I want to know now. The JT manual I got doesn’t specify where they are located, just says not to interfere with them.

The interwebs says above the drivers sun visor or under the wiper blades for clear views of the sky. But I’m not sure about that.

I don't have a new gladiator but Grok Ai says it hasn't moved and is still on top of the soundbar. But Ai is wrong about stuff sometimes.
