Yep. That’s similar to a lot of the pics I've seen, as well.

Ok, so I am new to the forum but have been reading a lot of the posts and came across this one. I actually had a very similar question as I've been shopping around for a lift kit that is reasonably priced. I had a 2017 JKU with a 3-3.5 inch BDS and was decently impressed with it, however, I have nothing to compare to it tho. Anyway, I now have a 2020 JT sport S and literally just put on 35x12.5x20's on with a 5 backspace and they fit great with no issues or rubbing. I didn't take off that stupid plastic piece between the front bumper and flair. So, I am looking for a lift between 2.5-3.5, primarily used on the road with maybe some occasional off-road use. I'm looking to stay under 1k with
A quality kit with preferably a spring and shock combo. RC is not an option as I don't want to headaches and spring sag. I would also like to maintain the tow rate and bed load capacity as much as possible. I appreciate the advice in advance!

I don't care how many people use them, I'd still stay away from Rough Country...Personal opinion.

This should get you the exact results you're looking for... It's slightly over your desired budget, but it's a complete kit that will put everything in the proper geometry...

But if you had about $1,600 to spend, this kit would be what I would go with...

Same kit as above, but instead of geometry brackets (which uses your stock upper & lower control arms), it includes their $470 set of Enforcer HD adjustable lower control arms to correct the steering geometry, which would be the kit I would recommend for most people who plan on doing some real offroading.

Thanks for the info! I did see this lift previously but it's a little out of my price range right now. I was even considering attempting to piece together my own Frankenlift but figured that would end up costing me more money. And correction on my post, I DID remove the plastic piece in between the fender and bumper to fit the 35's.

I bought that "trash" 3.5" rough country lift .. ..I'm sure it will be fine:swear:
Have you installed it yet? I've seen a lot of videos on comparing similar hardware from other manufacturers and RC most of the time seems to be inferior in quality of components and even size. I have no experience with them or other brands, just BDS so I'm curious.

I'm getting it installed Tuesday. I guess I'll let you guys know Wednesday how " trashy " it feels.

I would try to save up and get one of those 2 I showed you. If I had to pick between the 2, I'd go with the 2nd one, but if that's still just a bit outside the price range, I'd go with the first kit, and then add the Enforcer lower control arms later when you get the cash. That's what I'm doing with mine. I put on my Skyjacker 2.5/1.0" spacer kit to get it rolling on 37's for the time being, and then once I got some debts cleared-up, I was able to start buying the pieces I would need to replace the spacers, and upgrade stock parts with nice EVO and JKS parts. Now all I'm waiting on is my JKS rear springs to ship (for some reason they're taking FOREVER), and then I can take it up to Elite Offroad and have them swap all my stuff out for me (I don't have my shop anymore, so I don't have access to a rotary lift).

If I could start it all over from the beginning, I'd just save up and get that 2nd EVO lift I linked you to (the $1,600 one). It's the most complete kit with the main parts you need.

To be honest, I don’t think you will have any complaints, especially at first. My brother has a 6 in RC on a GMC pickup and he had nothing bad to say, but it’s a new lift as well. I’ve read that springs sag early and shocks bust leaks prematurely, but RC replaces it all I guess. You would have to do a legitimate side by side comparison to really differentiate from one lift to another and compare integrity over time.

what was your thoughts on the skyjacker.? I was looking at the long travel kit 2.5/1.5 spring and shock lift with either the blackmax or M95 nitro shocks.

Before you install your lift, take pre measurements and then post measurements to see how much actual lift you gain. I'm curious to see the results. Did you order the shocks and spring 3.5?

Don't you need to add shocks to either kit as well?

If you have a Rubicon, it comes with Fox shocks... So, with a 2.5" lift, you only need shock extension brackets. I think the kit comes with them, if not, Skyjacker and several other companies sell front shock extension brackets.

This is the RC kit with the springs , shocks and adjustable track bar for $650. It soaks up bumps in the road a little better than stock and I can really feel the upgrade over the stock track bar.
