Got ours today.
Rural Central Virginia
21 Mojave - Sticker price was $62,225
Personal Property Tax - $675.28 (6 mos)

Typically, my area is pretty low on taxes, so I'm curious as to how this compares to others.
Another reason to live in Texas. None of that malarkey goes on here.

Seems total costs is what we are looking at. I live in Fl now car sales tax is 7% by me. Trade in reduces the taxable price. So buy a 48k truck. Trade in worth 20k and pay tax 28k x.07 = 1960 bucks. Then the 37.5 per year registration. But sales and property tax is high. Just over 11k per year on the house. 7% tax on almost everything. And lots of toll roads. I lived in Mn in the past. Income tax was painful. 9% i will pay all the tolls in the world to avoid that. house tax was about the same in mn as fl. I dont miss it. Nj might have been the worst. But i escaped young before making much money.

I'm not sure, because Arizona does a thing where the sales tax is forgiven if you do a trade in
I assume there is still sales tax paid on any positive difference between the trade value and the vehicle purchase price. That is a pretty common in most states of trade in value reducing tax value.

They (not me) voted a $.01 tax for roads, after was ruled unconstitutional they pissed the money away. anywho, dont move to Florida we are full (of dumb asses)

I suspect they figure you already paid the sales tax on the one you are trading in when you bought it. So you are reducing the price using something that's already been taxed. You only owe on the new money you spend.

11K in Fl property tax? thats some high living (most likely on the water), my taxes are $1500yr! I wont move, no need to triple my taxes for a new house currently. where is the benefit?
7% is on the 1st $3K(maybe 5K), then 6 or 6.5%..

Not even sure what you are trying to compare here. Thread says personal property taxes (which means your home), but I see people posting their gladiator license plate tabs for various states

So I guess I'll play along.
in Michigan, my gladiator license plate tags are $190 a year but our 2 homes (1 primary residence and 1 cottage on the great lakes), is a combined amount of about 7K per year.
Michigan sales tax on boats, cars, trucks, etc is 6%.

Your home is real property, not personal property.

Michigan license plates are personal property tax because they are based on the cost of the vehicle.

License/registration required for trailers. Amount depends on the trailer and the weight capacity. My car hauler costs more per year than a 7'x6' small utility trailer I have with 1 axle and 2 small tires.
But both are pretty cheap. Both require a plate.
That's crazy. I have a 16' ATV trailer and had a boat trailer and SC didn't charge anything for either. But, because I registered all in FL, I had to pay. But like you, only cost depending on the size.

And my truck is unreal? LOL - kidding.
I made my home very personal. Not sure if it's real or not - so far the matrix is holding.

Not all states are the same. Some states (like SC) list your vehicles as personal property taxes.

Michigan license plates are personal property tax because they are based on the cost of the vehicle.
In SC, vehicles are personal property as well.
