All Advantek D44 JL/JT axles are 32 spline. ARB does make 35 spline carriers which fit the housing, but those are for swapping in 35 spline aftermarket shafts.

I see, I understand the flaw in my logic and I should have read the fine print.

but I then what is the difference between the axles? Why is there a max tow specific axle shaft. My left axle was just swapped in mine due to tone ring issues. Which is where I got the PN.

I donā€™t know.
Maybe the shafts are slightly different lengths due to carrier differences?

First post, and I think I made a mistake when purchasing my JT this past weekend.

Got a great deal, but I had researched the heck out of Tacoma's and Rangers since I was looking for a small truck. When I looked at the Gladiator I was hooked, but a little behind on the plethora of options.

Everyone seems to agree on the Max Tow Package and I had no clue there was any difference. Dumb! I plan to get a lift with 35's since it is a daily driver, but I plan to do some overlanding in the future too and thought I was getting more payload capacity than I do with the regular Sport S suspension. I have the option to swap it out within a week at the dealer. Did I make a huge mistake or will I be okay with 35's and a regear down the road? DOH! Thanks!

Yeah, the max tow axle can be used left or right. I think the rubicon axles are side specific. There is a left one and a right one.

Not sure if it's been stated already but one of the benefits of wider axles is that it will make the vehicle harder to roll onto it's side, however if the axles get too wide they can cause clearance issues, both for on and offroad use.

Correct me if I am wrong, IF I wanted to get both the Diesel and Wide Axles, I need to get a Rubicon.

But is the "Wide Track" axles really a show stopper? I was leaning towards an Overland trim (I like the color keyed body panels and don't "need" the Rubicon axles).

The High Altitude also has wide axels and a diesel option. The extra width is 3/4 on each side, or 1.5 inches total.
High Altitude base price is $6k more than a Rubicon and is too Luxury for me.

Iā€™m curious because Iā€™ve see this stated a few times, but when you look at the specs of the HA it shows a track of 62.9 like the other normal width axles. The Rubicon, Max Tow, and Mojave are the ones that show wider tracks according to Jeeps specs. Now I could see them getting this measurement wrong between the different trims. Iā€™m just curious if it states somewhere that the HA gets the wide axles.

Never mind... I found it under the mechanical specs under the Build It section. Hmm šŸ¤”
