Will animals tear up the interior if I leave the top and doors off all night?

Bird poop is acidic and eats into materials
Yes. I've got a spot where yucky bird poop sat on the pain on my show car just a bit too long and even now, years later, you can find that spot if you look.

I got this thing, a bit of a pain to put on by yourself but it give you at least a little confidence.

That's fine except - won't help for mice and coons. In fact, they both like dark places so will get in between body and cover and enjoy a nice night of safety and warmth.
Never cover anything you don't want mice it, and I've got two cars out here that are proof that if a coon wants in, they'll get in (prying rusted floor pans down to get in, even shredding carpet that's in the way - luckily I'm scrapping those cars anyway and they'll go to the crusher soon)

In other words - here, you put the thing in a closed building and don't cover it.
In a garage it won't have coon problems.
In a garage uncovered - mice may get into the building but won't appreciate the openness of the interior and will avoid your interior.

Covers are good for weather, larger critters. Smaller ones - coons, mice, etc., will find their way in.

Around here, hell yes.
Raccoons have gotten into cars I'm parting - they find a small opening and make it bigger and they rip things to shreds and poop on everything. Squirrels will chew and cut wiring as will other things like CHIPMUNKS.
I don't care what you spray or try - sprays and repellents don't work on 'coons. They just don't.
I've got a bottle of the stuff I bought several years ago - and haven't used it since because it was a waste.
Mint oil generally works on mice and rats - but you have to keep up with it.

Around here mice even take dryer sheets and use them for NEST MATERIAL. I wish I had taken pictures of that in my camper years ago.
If I have to leave something open, it goes into the garage.
I try hard to make my wife NOT eat in our vehicles but that's a loosing battle - doesn't matter if you clean up and vacuum - they can smell where that french fry was sitting a week ago.

Here where I live, it's the raccoons - they even outsmart traps I set about 60% of the time.

I make sure all windows are up, and roof panels on IF a vehicle has to sit out here.

Same for me I have no garage to put mine in and the doors are off May through November/December. I have the Rain Gear Top and I put it on at night before going in. Not just for critters but also cause rain could pop up at any time down here on the coast.

Being from South Louisiana I can vouch on the coons. They will get into anything they want. Maybe not at first but they will figure a way

Yeah, but it's so hard to get the critters to pee where you wan them to, when you want them to.

Our pop-up storms are why I'd cover mine if I had the top off or whatever.
Nice day, no chance of rain, only partly cloudy - oh, gee, we didn't see THAT one coming after it rains 5" in an hour.....

Yeah, I get it that there's a lot of people with no garage - it's not totally uncommon, but just hate to think some might feel such a cover would keep out certain critters.

Yeah, the urine thing is often talked about by pest control people, but there are other ways - peppermint oil, mixes you can find recipes for on the internet, commercial products from places like Fleet Farm, and so on.
I have trouble with deer eating apples in the summer and fall and right now the damned things are eating off all of the hastas - some I brought here from my parents' house after they both died and that is really @$%@# me off. They don't like certain smells so may not be hard to keep away.
Coons - I just leave the traps out for them and take care of them in the morning.

I have garage but its not a huge one my wife's car takes up a good bit of it and the rest holds her 25 storage bins of holiday decorations and my kayak and gear

Yup. Iv'e had mice, ground squirrels, and even rabbits up under the hood.

Mice are hard. I've had to have bits and pieces of our Avalon's wiring harness replaced 5 times in the last 3 years. Cost $$$$$$$$$!!!!!!! Nothing keeps mice away if they decide they like what they taste. And they REALLY like Toyota wiring harnesses (soy based wire sheaths). Honda's - they don't care so much about - sons Accord gets no mice love.

But I'm not letting them anywhere near my Gladiator unless they can breach the garage fortress. Then, it's game on no matter what my wife says about the poor defenseless creatures......:devil::devil:

I have left mine overnight with doors off a few times. No squirrels or mice. Did notice neighbors cat using my soft top as a hammock. Maybe that kept mice and squirrels away. But cat piss stinks so I put mousetraps on my hood and seats. Prolly will order the cab cover.

Nothing tore mine up, but I did sit down in my old JK one morning, turned to look to back out of the driveway and there was a raccoon sitting in the backseat. He just jumped out and no harm no foul.

Something also took a dump in the backseat floorboard. Had no carpet though so just sprayed it out.
