What the voltage reading is while it's running will vary from 12.6 to 15.0 depending on the ambient temperature and state of charge of the batteries, the speed you are moving, the load on the engine, temperature of the batteries and many other factors. So - "it depends".I'm not sure how long it sat on the lot. I have a feeling quite a while. So based on what you're saying I probably need new batteries or something else is wrong. Sounds like 14.6 is not a normal operating voltage?
Don't jump to any conclusions about anything at all. Could be they just need a good CHARGING. And you driving it for a few minutes won't do that. A good battery charger that works on AGM batteries will take care of batteries that need to be fully charged.
You are looking for a quick fix on a modern complex vehicle - and you just can't do that.
