Did you use the washers to space them out? They seem to lock in easier being more vertical.
I did not use them. I read anecdotal stories on the forum of the spacers causing "popping" noises as the suspension cycled during daily driving, so I left them out. I just went a checked my truck and my autolynx have a 10-15 degree tilt towards the sway bar from vertical. That being said, I have had zero issues locking and unocking and no noises during normal driving. So long as you aren't getting any noises I wouldn't bother removing them. Those that got noises from the suspension correlated with pulling in and out of driveways, stuff like that where the suspension flexed with the autolynx locked.

I keep looking at the pics and wonder if those are marks from the tire instead. All I know is something caused the driver side to lock by itself. Not sure what to do about that.
Disconnect (unlock) the AutoLynx, grab your sway bar and pull it up as far as you can. That will tell you if they are hitting the inner fender liner or not. Mine do hit them and I have aluminum high clearance inner liners. You may have to cut a hole with a hole saw to get the clearance they need.

Or lift it ?
Mine is lifted. Two inch AEV spacer lift. It still hits the liners. If I hadn’t traded it in on a new Rubicon Ecodiesel, I would have probably lifted it a little more. Or put in the spacer washers so they were more vertical.

If you look closely you can see where the AutoLynx rubbed the powder coating off.

Has anyone who's had them installed or installed the AUTOLYNX themselves had any sort of bounce when they are locked driving on the highway. Mine were second hand and only 3 months old. A buy off a forum member here. I was showing them to my buddy last night and unlocked driver side on fairly level ground. Noticed when I did it sort of popped and saw about an inch of clearance between bottom where they attach on the rod and the exterior housing. Also noticed that I could turn the tube that the rod is in. Is that normal? I certainly don't have death wobble my steering wheel doesn't jump around. It's only the drivers side that hops. Not the passenger side. Would love some insight of anyone has any on this issue. Note(I didn't take them apart before they were installed after I bought them.) Also checked the jam nut which appeared to be tight as I couldn't turn it. Thanks in advance.

If the jam nut is tight the housing shouldn’t move.
From the videos I've seen from Apex. The jam nut is tightened against the upper snapring not down into the housing. Is that correct?

So I spent a day wheeling today and the autolynx are awesome. One issue though, they hit the plastic liner and the driver side locked itself while I was driving. Weird.

I must have had the same thing happen last time I was off-road. I didn’t notice any signs of them rubbing on the fender liners, but it was muddy almost the entire time. We were packing up from the trail and I went to re-lock, found that one side had locked itself. I initially thought I had forgotten to unlock one side, but your post makes me think it must have relocked at some point. Our suspension must seriously flex because I never thought the Autolynx could move that much.

So I think I found out the reason I was getting a bounce(not death wobble). Picture one prior to taking out and being able to break loose the nut. Once out I noticed play because the nut wasn't tight against the snap ring. Second picture after taking out and tightened against snap ring. I didn't have a vice unfortunately. So I had to use channel locks. See how she drives when I go to work.

For the guys who installed this, did you have to jack up your truck or could it be installed on the ground?

I installed mine flat on the ground. Did it with the tires on too.

On the ground, tires on. Probably easier with tires off but I like to do stuff the hard way LOL (wasn’t hard)

BTW, the OE top nuts are 18mm but the replacement nuts are 19mm (3/4)
Thanks for the tips!

Dang. I really wanted a set of these too; didn’t realize they were going to rub, even with AEV lift. For no more than we do trails, the cost doesn’t justify the benefits. For now, I just zip off those lower bolts/nuts with a 3/8” impact, and then tie up the links with the big twisty ties. Maybe I’ll hold out for a lift with beefier adjustable control arms, and then that way, if I ever replace those fox shocks I can do so with more travel.

Looks like the owner before you was an idiot. Did it fix the bounce?
