28k trouble free miles on the wife's 21 JLURD
4k miles on my 22 JTRD when it blew the high pressure fuel pump and destroyed the fuel system....

FCA buying it back and I'm ordering a 23 JTRD..... love the diesel

(Hate that the new diesels are almost intolerant of anything but 100% perfect fuel, these ain't old school diesels for sure)

Yup same here 11k miles and absolutely 0 problems, even did the Insane diesel oil filter bypass and it's been perfect other than that,no problems just awesomeness the mpgs are awesome the power is great despite people saying the gasser performs the same.....and to that I say Hell No??,

offroad I don't have to stomp on the gas to get the damn thing up a steep hill anymore compared to my Ole gasser, passing the highway too is a breeze with the diesel now, lovin it :)

But it being diesel comes maintenance that's obviously expected so for the people complaining just stop cause it ain't gonna maintain itself. So change your oil, fuel filter and deal with adding def to your truck and ect.???
I have the 3.6L and I can’t imagine that having the torque of a diesel. I was a tracked vehicle mechanic in the Marines in the 60s and the Amtrac and tank had the same Allison bottom end, but the tank was diesel and amtrac gas. No comparison on torque. I got the 3.6 for the MT. If they mated the 3.0 to an MT I’d be there.

13,000 trouble free miles including a fair bit of towing from Las Vegas to Houston and back again (in the winter).

If you understand the heat limitation at this moment in time as the aftermarket creates a solution, you should 100% jump in as the water is great!

Thanks for all your input! I definitely feel better. I think a 2023 Rubicon diesel in Earl is in my near future.

I’m sad about the Gobi being discontinued. I’m hoping the Earl doesn’t look so blue in real life.

thanks again all!!!

Which generation of eco diesel are you referring to? It’s on the 3rd one and has the CP4 fuel pump which.. just Google CP4 see for yourself.

They have the CP4.2 which its largest issue is with low sulfur diesel. If your worried about it put a couple capfuls of 2 stroke oil or use hot shots every tank full. Pretty much a non issue at that point.

yesh, that CP4.2 was the very CP4.2 they had in the two years with 2019 and 2020 Cummins. They went with another pump which looks identical to a CP3 in 2021, but think we are dummies and called it something else.

They still had $10k plus repairs Eventually going back, I meant went to a new pump.
Nobody knows the failure rate since that’s privy to Stellantis. Best guess was in those two years was like 3% of all and expect to be higher as time goes on. I almost sure these will be a if it didn’t fail yet, it will thing.
And yes, the additives. If you do that and CP4 fails they will do a fuel And oil sample test. I used Lucas in mine, in case you were wondering. But traded it in for a 21 3500 before it had issues..
There is a recall in Jeeps for this very same pump. Not sure what’s the fix. Hopefully a CP3, I meant to say that new pump whatever they want to call it.
Bottom line a CP4, 4.1, 4.2 or however many revisions and simple pattern they carve on the pump body can’t get around those needle bearings that desintegrate. There will be a fix because Stellantis is getting tired of replacing fuel systems on trucks and Jeeps under warranty. Maybe a CP5 in the works. They are tight lipped about all this.

Adding my 2cents here.... I had a 2020 ZR2 with the Duramax, other than the fact it was quite slow I absolutely loved everything else about it; the low end torque and control on trails was amazing, mpg's were fantastic, the ZR2 itself handled way better in all situations so far over my Mojave. I kept telling ppl how amazing the little truck was, I thought I had a keeper!!! Then the 2nd winter it all went to shit sadly, constant DEF system problems. It kept going to bitch mode err umm limp mode... Seems some are great and some are very problematic. Ppl blabber about the delete/tune route, I'm in Canada so I could still do this but felt that spending 4k+ to fix a terrible system and void the entire powertrain warranty was total crap. So I'm in a Mojave now!!!! Love it other than the gas consumption and prices in Canada make the US prices seem like a real bargain. I think the diesel while under warranty can be great, out of warranty delete/tune or be ready to dump cash when it goes bad. Sooo buy it and get the extended warranty!!!!!!!! :) I'd love a JLU diesel at this point, but in Canada that is a 10k add on.

Don’t run the 2-stroke! It will screw up exhaust emission systems. Run a quality additive of your choice every tank. I use Amsoil.

I do however run 2 stroke (1 oz per gallon) in all my 24V Cummins trucks.

People seem to forget Rams exist
I know this is common knowledge here but for those who don't know the engine is made by Fiat in Italy. The Europeans will know more about small diesel engines than we ever will because they were paying real fuel prices for decades and were forced to squeeze every ounce of efficiency out of an engine. Meanwhile as our fuels have been subsidized we just kept on developing the larger engines to haul more stuff. Now that our gas prices are coming closer to the rest of the worlds we may start to develop more efficient motors rather than buying them from Mercedes, Japan and Italy...
OK lesson over

36k miles and zero trouble outside of a leaking rear axle as many others have reported. Goes in for an axle replacement next week under warranty.
I did say mine is”ok” but your post reminded me my timing cover is leaking…. I am waiting till I’m done pulling my camper for the summer as I don’t want to be without my truck. It’s just a drip here and there. Not too bad.
