I won't miss the binding and having to shift 10 times in 20 minutes this coming winter.

With temperatures (high 40's) and humidity unusually high (80%), July has been miserable for getting out and about in Qatar. Managed some mild off roading and dune bashing on the way back from a vehicle test but the toll on the vehicles in the temperature and the soft sand (lots of fresh drifting and incredibly soft) is now considerable. The JTR continuing to prove itself outstanding in the sand and a 1st rate recovery vehicle.

Modification-wise, I have put some scratches into the steel bumper from rocks and dented the exhaust silencers due to limited break over. I have also installed an Aliexpress version of the Amphib snorkel. The kit is exactly as sold by Amphib/ Rugged Ridge, down to seals, screws and fasteners - so much so I suspect it is a genuine one or at least from the same molds etc. it also comes with both high and low intakes.

7/21/22: Installed Mopar 2" lift and had the front suspension aligned (factory alignment was off!; partial image below)
7/23: Installed Warn VR EVO 10S winch on a Rugged Ridge winch plate on the OEM steel bumper (image below)
7/24: Installed Maximus 3 JT rear Rubi steps (image below)
next week: Discount installs five Kanati Trail Hogs (315/70-17) on Ion 715 17X9" wheels
And on that day, I rest. I'll have truck shots after the wheel/tire install.

PS: For those contemplating the Rugged Ridge winch plate, which is mostly fine, keep in mind that the bumper plates for the rear two skid plate bolts have to be modified (cut down) in order to bolt back to the bumper skid plate. A bummer to cut since they are quite thick. This is an error on Rugged Ridge's part.

Edit: I was wrong about this. After crawling under (again), I saw that the spacer they supplied it not necessary. You just put the plate in on both sides and the fit is perfect. Sorry. Installed in 100 degree heat.

Installed my Oracle bumper mount LED backup lights and in the process, prepped the wiring for eventual connection to one of the aux switches so the Oracle lights will operate either when in reverse, or if I hit a switch. That way I can use them while dealing with a trailer or loading/strapping a car onto the trailer or just plain to have light back there.

I decided to use one of the commercial diodes to make things a bit neater and easier.
I don't like the normal crimp on connectors so used my own and will use an electrical oxide preventing compound on the connectors when pushing them on the diode's tabs.

I used the sealing type heat shrink on everything I've done so far.

Mine was similar from last weekend's trip. First fill up was around $119. Round trip to kings canyon cost me $305 though.

You are so weird sometimes. Everybody's had CV joints in cars for decades lol.

Anyway, more of a do with, but did a quick first oil change at 2600 miles, and a little trip to Fargo and Itasca state park this weekend. Stood in the middle of the Mississippi river. Decently pleased with the diesel (reported) mpg on 37s.
