Looking at the coolant lines going into the oil cooler, one comes from the block under the exhaust manifolds and the other goes to the egr cooler. I used the line coming from the block. I tried to get my temp gun in there to get a solid delta T but it’s way to tight. Logic tells me supply shouldn’t pass through the egr cooler first but I’m not always a logical guy. ?

Never mind. I'm an idiot. You tied into the coolant side not the oil side ?

Yes he tried cooling the coolant down going into the oil housing.

I wonder how much flow comes out of the 2 ports that hes using for cooling now?

M18 maybe?
.856 is 21.75mm and .055 is 1.4mm. If that's what he based your plug off of then chances are it's a M22x1.5. I'm going to order a set and see what happens. How much oil came out when you pulled the plugs out? Wanting to know how prepared I need to be.

When you do it. Remove the oil filter so that it runs back into the pan. Think you won't have as much oil to deal with.

They are definitely in and out from the oil supply. I believe front one it out and back one is in. I didn't keep track after I decided to not run a temp switch. The oil temps are always higher than the temps available for those switches so the fan would always be in anyway. I just have it running off one of the aux switches and set it to remember on/off position after ignition. I can turn it off that way if I need to.

I think you could probably get more cooling out of it if you added a pump.

The cooler is the better Derale cooler with the 10" fan.

I'm not sure the cooler would fit in the same spot on a gladiator without a lift. I had to drop my emergency brake cables about 3 inches to clear the cooler.

Thank you. That was it. That's exactly how my fitting guy figured it out.

It was one we had around the shop for awhile. That looks like the same one.
???

I’m looking to duplicate your setup ? shopping for a cooler and noticed they have quite the “row” difference.

40 row should give the least oil pressure reduction/ stress…. Next up I’m shopping for fittings. ? thanks

Nice, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I plan on using the 15876. Same as yours but -8an whereas yours is -12an
Curious as to your reasoning for wanting to restrict the system to 1/2” line?

I am curious if the plugs on the filter housing are full flow or a "bypass" setup. Does all oil flow through these? It cant because then with them in nothing would flow.

Adding a cooler into a open loop will only allow enough oil to flow through the cooler when pressure is high enough that the flow differential is lower to the cooler....correct?
