Apex autoLYNX SWAY on stock mojave

Anyone got pics of these disconnects fully flexed? Or at least unlocked and pulled up? I'd love to see if (and where) they hit the liners.

I've split my fenders and installed the American Adventure Labs liners and highline lights/turn signals. I'm currently on stock suspension and tires - thinking I may step up to 35's at some point, but don't plan on doing a lift anytime soon.

I know some of you have said they won't interfere, but I just want to make sure that these won't push up against the metal fender liners I just put in. The video on Apex's site cutting a chunk out of a pair of metal fender liners has me a bit skittish.

I'm heading to Delaware beaches surf fishing this weekend, be down Friday before tournament starts, gotta run the beach at low tide to get the best lay of the sand. I 'll see if there is a wash over that I can stuff a tire on.....Jack

PS: Friday will be the first day I use the disconnects, and will be again on the 22nd at Rausch Creek, Pa. get together.

From their specs:

8.0" STROKE -
For use with factory shocks including Rubicon, Sport and Sahara models.
Including JK/JL/JT. It's an ideal fit for a Mojave when you're keeping your stock shocks, even when lifted. This shorter link will make mounting easier on stock - 2.0” lift kits. Typically no trimming required on factory wheel wells.

10.5" STROKE -
For use with aftermarket shocks. If you plan on upgrading to longer shocks than factory supplied, use the 10.5” stroke autoLYNX.
This will most likely require trimming of aftermarket inner fender liners.
Mopar 2” lift kits can use either the 8.0”/10.5” stroke autoLYNX.

Nice, enjoy! We were out at Fenwick a few months ago. Always a good time. Interested to hear your impressions after you’ve had a chance to test them out.

Don't have a Mojave but I'm eventually gonna get some for my Overland. I'm waiting until I'm lifted on the Mopar kit. Plan on using the 8" stroke on the Mopar lift.

Just wish they weren't so pricey

thanks - i saw that install video, and fully actuated they do touch the liner. or they do at least on whichever model that is, and length (10.5 vs 8) and lift set up they have.

leaning this way, because they are pretty slick, just hoping to see some pictures of them out in the wild!

They're my next mod and yes they're a lil pricey and their price has gone up a bit over the last year, just like everything else has, but if you're signed up with GovX you'll get a discount on them which will help take the sting out. There's nothing else like them and it certainly appears that you get what you pay for, otherwise I wouldn't buy them...

I don’t have pics, but love these things. Mopar lift with the 10.5” version. Super easy to lock/unlock.

I waited on a guy for 30 mins trying to get his manual disconnects put back. After watching him fuss with those and lying in the dirt/mud, these things are a bargain.

They just kiss the stock liner of the Rubicon flares (I upgraded to clear 37’s), so the 10.5” would probably push on the standard flare liners a good bit.

Just installed on my stock suspension mojave.

I watched a few different install videos prior to doing the job myself, including Apex's own video. None of the videos prepared me for how small my OEM sway bar links were going to be. I don't know if it's a mojave specific thing or something that changed in MY22, but my links where barely over 5 inches eye-to-eye, whereas every video i watched prepared me for them to be about 8 inches. Shortest position for the Apex Autolynx was 6.2. I ran with it because a slightly elevated sway bar is never a bad thing as long as you have full clearance. but then after getting the bottoms of the auotlynx 75% tight, i noticed the gap from the upper bushing to the swaybar was over 3/4 an inch on both sides.

the bushing in the lower end of the lynx didn't feel like they naturally wanted to bend that far, so i put in a call to technical support (lucky they were mountain time because I was doing this right after work eastern time). "no problem, the bushings are rated to function at that angle. We actually make spacers for people who are neurotic and want them vertical, but you don't need them". Okay, let's hope he was telling the truth and not lying to get me off the phone.

My word of warning: if you're like me and planning on installing this while on the ground (or with jack stands under the axles, not the body) be prepared for some tight wrenching. I'm talking twisting a nut 35-40° tops per turn. it was not fun. I think i spent 3 hours for what i imagine with a lift would be about a 30 minute job. That 5 link really gets in the way of a standard wrench in an area where i imagine with some droop you'd pick up a lot more rotation. And wouldn't you know it, the one double closed end ratcheting wrench i couldn't find was the 18&19mm. i have my 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, and 20-21, but the correct one for this job was missing.

Test run on some local trails that are little more than ill-maintained washboard roads and brush comes this Friday. Let's hope they smooth that ride out enough that the wife enjoys it, cause i'm not a rockcrawler so this purchase was mostly to get her to enjoy offroading.
