One other gem I discovered during the swap was that when the fairlead was installed with the winch, they bolted it straight to the bumper BEFORE putting the bumper on. This put two large grade 8.8 M12 nuts between the steel bumper skin and the stout winch plate. This kept the bumper from seating properly against the winch mount by about 3/8 of an inch. Got some new longer bolts, new stainless washers and bolts from Lowe’s. Now the gap issue with lower skid plate is solved. Like magic.
