Cool,A new '23 Raptor with factory 37" tire pack.
I have a 2014 Duramax with the cp4. I cringe driving it very far any more, waiting for the cp4 to exploded I guess. I'm always dealing with emissions equipment failures as well. I had to pass on the 3.0 in the Gladiator. At least Jeep has some sort of a recall going on, maybe in phases. The Duramax has a cp3 conversion kit available that no longer requires a tune or a delete. I'd like to know if they did a revision on the replacement pump on the Jeep. Kicking it down the road to get it out of warranty is just asking for a classaction. Just like the Duramax cp4, use an additive. It's not a sure thing, but better than nothing. For what's it's worth, I had a conversation with a diesel mechanic this week and asked him about issues at his dealership with CP4's. He works on GMC's (Duromax) He told me the biggest issue was that GMC didn't put a lift pump in the fuel tank, causing air or whatever to get to the CP4.
His personal truck has a Duromax and he claims to have retrofitted a lift pump AND switched his CP4 to a CP3! He said it's the same bolt pattern, he just had to adjust the pressure parameters.
I don't know that much about diesel engines, but he seemed trustworthy and honest. (and a former combat Marine)
Are the CP4's on the bigger engines different than what's on our Eco's?
I wonder if Jeep is gearing up to do retrofits?
Yea they are the ones who charge me for my oil change they were better when they were in Dublin by the big 5. But that was close to a decade ago.Stoneridge in Pleasanton
Ya I loved the GDE tune but... I should not have test drove a new Raptor on 37"'ers. It really showed me how much I value comfort these days. Especially as I get older and all these aches from decades in the military.wow, you just got a GDE tune less then a month ago and have already jumped ship? Want to sell me your spare ecu?
Best HotShots product to use? They will have to replace the fuel system in entirety. All lines to and from the fuel tank etc. Don't let them not! I've been using Hot shot's secret since my first in failed after 4582 miles. No issues since and 28k on it now.
I am new to this. How much do you recommend?Ive used Hot Shots everyday EDT. With every tank since 4581 miles and fuel pump destruction. I've got 31k on it now and no issues. ?
It comes with a I believe 2 oz. Squeeze on the bottle. I squeeze it to the top and dump it in. They sell gallon ones on Amazon.I am new to this. How much do you recommend?
This ain't ya daddy's 7.3 lol . I wish...Hopefully Hotshots really is helping but it is sad that making it 31K miles without a failure gives one bragging rights. This is a diesel. Bragging rights begin at 300K.
To answer your question there are 2 versions. a CP4.1 and a CP4.2. One is single piston, and the other is dual piston for applications requiring more fuel. I have no idea which one we have to be honest, but I would assume the single piston version should theoretically be more reliable since it has one less roller bearing to eat.Are the CP4's on the bigger engines different than what's on our Eco's?
