Well that's unfortunate. I have the low platform and I have to say, it was easy peasy on the install. I didn't have to do any tweaking; I wonder if it was a bad build you got or if that is the way for all of the high platforms.? Hmmmm...

NOW, do yourself a favor and make one more modification. I used mine off grid for several weeks and found one thing left to be desired:
I always seemed to need to access something that was under the platform when I had a bunch of things sitting on top of the platform. I hated having to unpack the platform, so I turned the side panel into an access panel:

I tried it with velcro first but wasn't happy with it (frankly, I didn't do a very good job of it) but then I decided to lock one of the T-nuts in the rail and just use a knob. Sooooo happy!!!
I also wish it didn’t have center walls, would be nice to put a riffle in under the platform. The high platform has longer sides that go further back, might not be as easy as your setup.

Perhaps the easiest - perhaps the dumbest! - Mojave ā€œmodificationā€ ever posted on this forum…. For reference, my motto in life is ā€œNever Quitā€, my license plate is ā€œNEVRQITā€ and my personal ā€œjust for the phuck-of-itā€ website is www.NevrQit.com.

I'd hoped by now I'd be installing the parts that ordered last week. Instead I've sat back and watch FedEx take my package 700 miles in 5 days. At this rate I figure I'll have them by the middle of March.

I can not figured out why every freaking Jeep parts company snuggles up to FedEx. Please give me a freaking choice.

Couldn’t agree more. I wish more manufacturers gave options. FedEx is the worst carrier in the world. My employer uses them. The stories I could tell you about their service would make your head explode. I guess it comes down to money. As long as a company is saving more in shipping than they lose from crappy shippers like FedEx, why change.
From what I understand there’s ground and home delivery. One of those options use contractors under the FeEx name. It’s supposedly the contractors that are the shit heads. Maybe someone here knows more about the details and can verify or correct me.

Well I did the Goose Gear High Platform today.
I have mixed feelings about it. It fits well, it looks professional, it does what I need it to do. For the cost of the platform, I had to spend an hour cutting and fitting the rails, I had to grind the attaching bracket for the 60/40 connection, the need to lift it out to adjust the L brackets for mounting is frankly dumb, given that nutserts are everywhere else on that platform. All in all, I’m happy, but displeased with overall lack of what seems only simple to make the platform easier to install.

Don't rule it out before looking at it. I actually got the idea from someone who did the same thing with their high platform delete...

BTW, you could probably cut a hole/notch/whatever in the center divider, enough to remain structural and load bearing, that would accomodate a rifle pass through.

Great idea! I may have to do this with mine as well.

diy seat delete with back wall and hidden storage. The pics aren’t the greatest but it has 3 access points to grab things behind the wall. Mounted on the wall is my power tank, toilet, camp chair, and full kitchen setup.

Interesting, I'd love to see your feedback on this. Does it bother you while driving at all?
