Finally got around to adding the kc cyclone underhood lights, Just used an old school tilt switch to turn them. Just used longer retaining pins in the insulation so i didnt have to drill anything

I didn't try to get to full droop. I might tinker with it tomorrow.

Get a GOOD 7/16 bit .
Also, the drill doesn't go through fully perpendicular to the outer face of the bracket. Just let it center itself in the other hole and get you a starter dimple, then switch out to 1/4 or 5/16 and work your way back up the 7/16".

I'll double check the spring but the camera was set wide angle so it may distorted from that.
I'm teetering on having a shop do the lift - just because I dont know about getting the control arms torqued and I dont have a spring compressor for the fronts. But that's a major inconvenience finding someone to give me a ride back home (2 hours out of the way), and then again to pick it up (another 2 hours).

When I face things like that I try to amortize the inconveniences of one or two days over the next few years of ownership. Makes you think differently.

Good to know and ironic. Actually getting a pacemaker put in next Wednesday.
Don't delete the AUX battery!

My dad, now 92.5, has had one for at least 15 years.
Only problem he ever had was one day he was running the vacuum and then he woke up in the floor next to the vacuum.
Had a lead that wasn't quite done right.
Other than that, regular maintenance and it's been great!

Took dad out for a drive since he is visiting for a week.

Then happened to see this

Looks like ROAM is trying to capitalize on the tent I have. It is literally the exact same thing except the fabric - probably made in the same factory too, like how a lot of products are.

However, note, that for the SAME tent, with noisy tent style fabric, you will be paying ROAM $1,000 more, at $3,500. Now that's a deal.

I can't stop laughing. ?????

I would much rather pay $1,000 less and support a smaller business of a couple dudes than that company obviously trying to take advantage of people.

Oh but they have a super cool video so that's the extra 1K

Oh and it's also 10 pounds heavier than 4x4Colorado also.

Because the Synergy springs are sooo much longer than stock springs, I "rented" a strut spring compressor from O'Reilly's. When I returned the tool, I got my money back. Made the job a breeze.
The free length on these is long.

Pics later, but got the truck on the road again with working power steps. I don't have the switch mounted yet.
I hate their heavy steel switch bracket that pushes hard on a factory harness and is sort of in the way of the ODB port and needlessly big and fat and heavy, so I may make my own.
I need to finish tying up the wires under the truck and make a couple tweaks, seal the entry points into the cab a bit better, but they are on and work.

My wife was thrilled having steps on it when we drove it tonight. And - it all worked perfectly the first time (other than that bolt, of course)

I like the looks of them on the truck (and on her Wrangler, too, of course)

Yeah I noticed that when I was looking at the AEV springs yesterday. I dont know that my local parts store (an hour away from me) has rentals but will give them a ring this week.

It’s taken a good 10 days to rebuild my old Ramsey REP8k and get it on the JT. Still waiting for the new synthetic rope. Still have to remote mount the control box and relocate the control cable plug in. Would like some advice from the members about the 12v connection to the winch. I have a group 31 marine 12v in the bed, or should I connect to the big battery in the engine room, to the positive and negative posts (or where), with or without isolator, or fuse, or circuit breaker? I’m just running on no experience with the JT’s complicated electrical system, and don’t want to destroy it in the first three weeks of ownership.

Thanks for your help

Busy day. Finished up building a bed plate for the bed to mount my fridge and some storage to in preparation for my GoFastCamper install next month. During the process, my warn evo 10a winch and winch plate got delivered, so had to toss that bad boy in ASAP.
Where did you get 5x5 plywood? Today's project was to do this with a 4x8 sheet, but now holding off to hear where you got 5x5.
