Swapped the metalcloak flip steps out for Rse step sliders.
What were your thoughts on the Metalcloak steps?
Any idea if they would mount on the original Rubicon rub rails?

Gave my Synergy ball joints a squeeze.

Used GREASECO lithium grease which more or less seems exactly same as Synergy’s own offering. Used a few squirts of Lucas brake cleaner / degreaser to clean all the gunk off the fittings. Took 20 minutes but half the time went to swapping grease gun over to needle fitting ?

They sure look great and good build quality is top notch. Did you buy the optional armor? I skipped it and ended up putting some good size bends in mine before shelling out for it.

I really liked the metalcloak steps but my wife and grandchildren needed something that dropped down more. I honestly don’t know if they would bolt up to the rubicon rails.

So I did a little modification to my Mopar trifold tonneau cover. I purchased the xtrusion bed rack system which I love by the way but I was not able to keep my tonneau cover on, it had to be removed. I will be completely honest and up front before going into details. First, I don’t care if the cover opens or stays completely water proof as they really aren’t completely waterproof anyways. If it rains hard enough and sideways water is getting in a little heat and there. If we are being honest. Okay, with that being said I was able to modify the tonneau cover to get it to fit on my bed. In the pictures I will post you will see where I cut to make room for the wing bracket for the rack system. I did all four wing bracket cut out the same way. It was very simple and the cuts did not hamper the integrity of the cover. It’s still very solid and does the job I need it to do, which is just cover the back of the bed securely. Okay here are the pics.

How's the comparison?
they are definitely heavier but it’s not super noticeable with the diesel. They are extremely quiet, at least for now. They look much bigger and more aggressive. Haven’t taken them off-road yet so no comparison there but it was snowing hard on the drive home and they did great in 2wd on steep snow covered roads.
