When I bought my Power Wagon in 2008. They said that was the last year for them because of low sales. They said the same thing about the '09's. They are still producing them today. Until you hear it from corporate. Everything is BS.

I confirmed this with my dealer this afternoon and a Jeep representative was in the building. It's not a surprise or unexpected given that Jeep is going to electrify all their models and there has been no news about the JT but the media surrounding the 2024 JL is everywhere. I was told that there isn't a name for their new electric truck but it will be something similar to the maverick in size, price, options, etc. So do we all stop driving these things and try to keep them in mint condition? I am bummed but not surprised.
I believe you heard what they said. Regardless, keep on truckin.

How many concepts make it into production anyways? You can disregard the thread if you think I am here to stir the pot. I actually think this sounds more reasonable and realistic than anything alternative.
I'm not doubting that they told you, I'm doubting what they told you. It may be a sales ploy to move product. I'd be shocked. The Engineer I saw in a video could only hint that all Jeep vehicles would have an electrification option...not that all would be electric. I suspect rear under seat and behind seat storage will go away on those vehicles and possibly a hump in the front of the bed for a battery pack, but don't think the Glady is going anywhere anytime soon. Just my $.02.

I promise you those guys have ZERO CLUE what is going to happen. The people that do know don’t show up at a dealership and they definitely do NOT talk about future plans that are not public knowledge or yet to be announced via press release. We hear all kinds of stuff like this all the time. Just a bunch of idiots spewing stuff they don’t know to drum up sales.
Shame on you for believing a bunch of folks at a dealership where they are trying to get you to buy and some random “Jeep Representative” says it.
Some dealers do get informed of things, but it’s high end high volume dealers and it’s close to launch on exciting media buzz stuff. They also are required to sign NDAs and can’t have phones out etc or risk penalties.

If you type in “Jeep Gladiator Discontinued” you’ll see that there has been a discussion on this every year since launch. I don’t see this being any more or less credible than those stories.

That said, I got my Jeep in September. It’s really just meant for family camping trips and off roading ventures. I only have 1490 miles on it and bought an extended warranty that is transferable. So if this is indeed true, I expect value of these to rise and on such a low mileage gladiator, cometh thy offers! $$$

I wouldn't count on it. With the current glut of Gladiators, no values will be heading up. And generally, when a model is discontinued the prices dive even more.

Last week I was offered 49K for my mint Mojave with 7,500 miles that I paid 55K (60K MSRP) just 13 months ago. The dealer stated that the reason being the lack of buyers and overflowing stock on lots. Most JT's are being discounted by 3k by the dealers and Jeep incentives at 3K, they will be competing with the price of new when reselling mine on the used market.

With other offers around 45K, I jumped at the 49K offer. Unfortunately, this did not include the 4K in mods I had into it either.

Over the years the one formula that has pretty much stayed the same, the higher the vehicle price, the greater the decline in trade value. ?‍♂

Honestly, anything’s possible. We’re in the middle of the biggest change to the auto industry since electronic controls were introduced, perhaps since the birth of the automobile itself. It’s a big deal for a company that makes what is essentially an evolution of a 1940s Army vehicle, with probably the worst aerodynamics and least efficient driveline of any vehicle on the road to jump fully into electrification with both feet.

Remember that Jeep is in a bind. They must meet CAFE standards under their own marque. And these standards keep getting stricter. They’ve tried this with uncompelling Jeepwashing of econoboxes with mixed results all to keep the Wrangler alive. Without the Wrangler, there’s no brand. It’s synonymous with the name Jeep. Wranglers sell Cherokees and Wagoneers. Wranglers sell Gladiators. So they must electrify. Wrangler first. Always.

I actually think it’s a distinct possibility that they will kill off the Gladiator but more than likely because they have to go back to the drawing board using next gen battery tech. Cramming a big ass battery under the current truck so that it gets 10 miles of EV range, is going to be a joke. It may not make fiscal since to engineer this less compelling stop-gap version on the current platform. But I do think it will return. The simple answer why the Gladiator wasn’t talked about in Stelantis’s electric vehicle showcase is that there’s no plans for the current truck to be electrified. Why water down the message with a non electric vehicle. It also may just plod along as the remaining ICE-only vehicle until the replacement is ready. It’s important to remember that the market for trucks isn’t the same as the market for Wranglers. The Gladiator has stiff competition and a fickle consumer base. Let’s see how this electric Ram does. That will tell you more about the future Gladiator than the Wrangler.

Imagine a Gladiator with a massive frunk, all the tech of a Rivian with the off road prowess of the current vehicle on solid state batteries, able to power your entire overland setup, with 800ft lbs of torque, and solar charging. It makes a lot of sense to stop and properly design a segment killer. I’m also starting to get Apple vibes from Jeep. They’ve doubled down on off-roading, overlanding, outdoors/nature and while simultaneously cramming tech into their vehicles. They want to stand apart and above from the rest of the crowd with form and function. They could slouch their way into electrification or they could kick the doors in. They clearly see being aggressive as the winning strategy and they’ve got a new generation of consumers with different values to appease.

Personally I’m going to enjoy the hell out of my JTRD but I’m excited for the future.

Hold on, you're sad you only lost 10% in 13 months? Average 1 year depreciation is over 20% for a new vehicle so 10% is fantastic.

The market is returning to pre-COVID levels where you can usually expect 10ish percent off MSRP (usually around invoice) and then depreciate against that. The last 2 years were a stimulus fueled anomaly and things are just going back to normal.

Also no chance they kill the gladiator after only 4 model years, the truck is still selling above their targets and at transaction prices that are just printing money. Any maker would love a 50k dollar truck selling 70k units a year.

Don’t know if it will be stopped but what I heard ( from my dealer after a meeting with the importer head’s office ) Gladiator won’t be offered anymore in 2024 in the Belgian market lineup . But … it’s a super small market so maybe it’s true

They have said this about the Chrysler 300 for years and still making them. They produced too many Gladiators last year especially Overlands. My dealer had truck loads coming in at the end of year 2022 s (overlands). The beginning of the year it was all Rubes and mojave 2023 s . No overlands at all. Now there getting loads of Rams !! Make less they will be worth more. Look at Harley Davidson early 90s. Waiting list just to order 2 years like the Bronco ?

**Rotopax already thinking about clamp-on external battery packs**

Batteries are the future, but as someone assigned an F150 Lightning for work, I can tell you they aren't ready for primetime, yet. Until they find a battery that doesn't lose 1/2-1/3rd of its range when it's cold out, and can fully-charge at home in drastically less than 20 hours, Jeep owners won't go for it. Just my two cents...
