Picked-up my lovely 2022 Gladiator Gobi last year in August, and before my first 10,000km oil change my Gorilla Glass windshield had already cracked! Spider'd out across the lower-half almost instantly.

Anyone else having these issues? I just had it replaced under warranty (because I made a big stink about it) but is there any documented difference between the stock windshield and the GG? This isn't my first Jeep and I've gone through many windshields, but just wondering what the GG is really supposed to do?

Let me guess, use the defrost setting in cold weather?

Posted in another thread but I just had my windshield replaced because of a rock strike the replacement windshield cracked in the lower right hand corner and ran all the way up the A Pillar within a week of install.

No temp fluctuations or defrost used.

Yep, same here. Had a rock strike the lower driver-side section right below the wiper arm and that was that. We'll see how long the replacement lasts but I heard they are not offering the GG windshield as an option right now.

I have the $0 deductible rider on my auto insurance because I heard of the lack of GG support for warranty. Replaced through Safelite. The second replacement was also covered by Safelite's lifetime guarantee on installation.

I had the same issue. Big thread from a while back.

Bottom line - They did not replace because factory warranty only covers workmanship issues. Since GG was factory, Mopar did not cover it either. Good on you to get it covered. Definitely not worth it.

2021 here with GG on it, I think I was in the first month of production with it as the option just came out right before I placed the order. Still no issues as of 29,000 miles and I'm in Wisconsin, but heated garage probably helps the situation too.

Not sure I would have paid more than the extra $100 it was over the oem windshield, but for that price the cool little gorilla badge is worth at least $50 of that $100 lol

They almost didn't cover it as 'Jeep Warranty doesn't include stone-chips' but I argued that if the first stone chip results in a cracked windshield, then why did I pay $100 for the same experience I would've had with the OEM glass? They ended up replacing it but I wouldn't have bothered getting it again unless it ended up being free.

I'll have to look for that thread, thx for the reply.

2021 Gladiator purchased new in 22, 20k miles so far, no impacts/chips. on a cross country trip turned on defroster, noticed a small crack reflecting light six inches from center, on bottom passenger side, within 12 hours the crack has gone to the other side. I find it interesting the number of failures of GG all beginning in the same location and similar in appearance pictured on this and other forum sites

Mine had weird circle crack within 4 weeks of purchase back in April 2022. That was replaced under warrenty because they could not find any impacts or start finish of the circle. The dealer placed that in their weird file. Since then (cross fingers) no problems in the last year. Had a good impact last week and the rock broke instead of the windshield. At first I thought the windshield had a chip since I saw shiny part from inside. It turned out to be rock bit on windshield. I wiped off the rock part and windshield was find.

It was probably your thread that convinced me to get the windshield rider :fist bump: . If I'd of known what I know now, I wouldn't have ordered it and incurred the up-charge on my build.

Rock strikes and Jeep windshields go hand in hand - starting way back with my first - '93 YJ. I think I had 3 windshield replacements in that one. So far only repairable hits on my '20 JT stock windshield but I am an absolute NUT about not following dump trucks or even UPS trucks with dually wheels (yes, one of my strikes in '95 was from a UPS truck with a rock lodged between the dually's). That goes for vehicles with boats or mattresses tied to the roof...
Briefly considered the GG which was available as an order upgrade when we ordered my wife's '21 JL, but I could not find any evidence that those with GG fared any better.

Still researching Lamin-X or Motoshield products, but not sold yet. Maybe they should offer a screen door options that mounts in front of the windshield...

I have GG on my 22. 1 year and 6K miles no issues but it's a Jeep and if a rock hits it, it's done. I expect that and I'll have to pay. No point in complaining.
