Does anyone feel the need for an Aux. Fuel Tank (Towing)?

I’d like another 10 gallons of capacity to reduce my need to frequently hunt for good prices on fuel.

For me, it would be just so I could avoid buying fuel when going through Illinois.

2 grand plus the mods needed - it's up there...........
The sidekick is a cool idea but won't fit under the tonneau cover so that's out for me.

In my case It's not a major problem with my JT, pulling my enclosed trailer, the wind resistance cuts my gas milage to 12. My boat is my main tow load and it still cuts my milage to 14. I only tow long distance once or twice a year. I just plain on stopping every two hours to let my wife get out and stretch any way. My F150 has a 36 gallon tank and pulling the enclosed trailer I get 14.5. But the wife still will need to stop every two hours or so.

Some of us don't have multiple vehicles/trucks. The JT is our primary daily driver, off roader, haulter, tower, and summer convertible. I guess absent an aux tank, carry 4 jerry cans.

While I would like extra capacity for multiple day trails, I can’t justify the extra weight. On long off road trips where gas won’t be accessible, I do bring a couple 2 gallon rotopax cans. I’d consider adding a small aux tank, no more than 5-6 gallons, depending on price and weight though.

Love this idea. Now to mount the available 6 gallon in the bed and rig up a transfer pump.

... it’s on the wrong side

For what it's worth... I have one. It's generic, it can mount on either side if you want it to. On the driver side, the nose bumps into the asymmetric corner of the Gladiator bed to clear the fuel filler, and kicks the nose inward a few inches. So the Gladiator-specific kit they sell is just a bracket to mount to the trail rail on the passenger side.

Or get the generic one and make your own bracket for the driver side; that's all I did. I use that small gap to store the siphon hose and a map case. (It definitely sits too tall for a tonneau through.)
