I installed the Teraflex Crankcase Vent System which adds a second PCV valve.
I had the dreaded white cloud of smoke when trying to climb at Rowher, and this is supposed to fix that. hopefully it didn’t set me up for early engine troubles?‍?.

You can see the extension off the oil fill cap, and hose extending down underneath the air intake. The kit was pretty easy to throw together.
The only thing I’m a little worried about is that the barb fitting marked X does not seem very tight and has loosened a little, despite having a spring clamp on there. I might have to put a screw clamp on or something instead?‍♂

Well, this is sort of a "two-parter": 1)What did I do over the last few days and 2) what did I do today.

1) What did I do over the last few days? Reworked my entire house electrical system:

First off I installed a proper cable gland for the solar wire penetration into my Alu-Cab Canopy. This was scary as it's the first hole(s) I've put in it in 3 years of ownership
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] 14_SolarCableGland

Then I converted my Alu-Cab Canopy cupboard into an electrical panel and consolidated all of my electrical controls: 30A MPPT w/DC-DC Charger, Trigger Controller for house loads, main power switch (forgive the blue tape temp labeling) and even a little mounted box for fuses, batteries, etc.

Here's a shot underneath of the electrical cabinet. Looking forward you can see all the cable glands/strain relief running out of the front of the cabinet and off to either the House Battery, House Loads, or the engine compartment.

2) Now what did I do today? Feeling gutsy about putting the first hole in the canopy for the solar cables, I decided to make my exterior shower actually have exterior access:

I still have to come up with an elegant solution to retract the hose but right now this little bungee cord is functional.

Cheers

I did nothing but drive it to a new dealer yesterday for the fuel pump recall, oil change, fuel filter, and another battery check. The recall was surprisingly painless. I called the service department and they requested my vin and said they would call back when they had the part. I was expecting months of waiting but they called 2 days later to schedule the work this week. Showed up yesterday and picked it up today at closing time.

The battery test for the wonderful ESS system is the second one performed. First one from this dealer. They said it passed the load test but they reset the IBS. After 4-5 miles of the freeway, my ESS started working. I am sure I need to replace the batteries but I was really trying to get them replaced under warranty since the ESS hasn’t worked since new. I know it is because I only drive it to the beach 2-3 days a week. And it is only a 23 mile drive.

Nothing as big or dramatic or requiring deep thought, calculations, math or really any degree of difficulty at all - just put the wreath on for the holidays and added a permanent connector for my BatteryMinder 1550 so I can just plug in and not clip to any battery terminals.

I connected to the plow fuse since it was close to the chassis ground and kept the wiring away from the batteries themselves.
Large hot cable goes from main battery + to winch solenoid terminal and then another cable goes from the winch solenoid terminal to the plow fuse so I only have one cable actually going to the battery. The winch solenoid is a "terminal block" for my purposes so the BatteryMinder connection goes through the 200 amp plow fuse, to the winch solenoid hot side then up to the battery +, minimizing the number of wires up there and keeping the charger connection well out of the way, mostly hidden.

I only use the 12v outlet under the hood a couple of times a year - saves running the cord clear into the cabin, keeps all wiring up front, easy to remove the wreath connection in January when the wires are cold and stiff.

Since the wreath is only on for a short time, I don't really mind the big bundle of wires tucked in there out of the way. It's temporary.

I still need to get rid of my crappy marker legends on here and make some nice neat labels up for things. I know what's what, but if it's in for any service or warranty work - I want them to know what's what, and what's hot or not.

+ and - for the battery tender connection marked

Simple basic stuff, nothing big or major, nothing compares to major stuff here.

LOL - yeah. I've got a really very nice bright silver/chrome looking one I used to touch up some of the dash and door trim on my SX4 - getting 10 of 10 points, and orange is good for gauge needle touchup. My problem is the "essential tremors" have lost me the ability to print neatly.
but still - paint pens for touching things up, or marking suspension bolts and nuts to monitor for movement.
That writing on the fuse and other ID markers there looks like #!@$

Took it to the local shop to put it on the forklift for a full suspension travel test after installing the Fox IFP hydraulic bump stops before thanksgiving. It’s perfect where the bump stop is situated in the jounce tube, and 2” of pucks. I was able to get 29” off the ground when the rear started lifting. I’m within 1/2” of the fender flare liner, but not touching. And the bump stop bottoms out just before the shock would. I did find out that my rear brake lines need a little more length, so those are ordered.
