I have a 2022 Rubicon diesel and I finally wore those dang Falcon tires down to an acceptable amount to convince my wife to get new tires. What the heck do they make those things out of anyway Kriptonite?! I was doing burnouts everywhere to wear those things down! I installed the Clayton 3.5” diesel springs in the front and a spacer from a 3” spacer kit (actual measurement was 2”) I installed the shock extenders because they are only a year old and I figured I could get another year out of them right?!
I currently sit at 45” in front and 42” in the rear. I’m about to add a steel bumper and winch in front and I would like a little rake in the back because I will tow and carry payload but not all the time and I will be adding the helper airbags inside of the new springs. I also have a rack on the back that probably weighs about 150 lbs +\- Finally to my Question…
I’m thinking the Clayton springs will be good in the front considering it is a diesel and I’ll be adding the bumper and winch but I don’t want a stiff neck every time I drive it w/o a load so probably not going Clayton for the rear. Suggestions welcome. Thanks ?

I have +3" rock krawler rear springs I can make you a deal on. I think with air bags and spacers plus the longer spring you can find a happy height.

The springs have a similar spring rate as oem rear springs.

If you're running a rack and other weight, go with Clayton's 2.5" HD rear springs.

The difference between the triple-rate rear springs (per rate) of the standard and HD are as follows:
159/188, 280/308, 360/396

For reference, the difference between gas and diesel Clayton springs is 188/216. ~30# isn't a lot, but it can make a world of difference.

Then get some shocks so you don't have to run extensions and can get better articulation. Besides, the Rubi shocks are horrible, once you get a decent set on.

The Rubicon suspension is designed (poorly, imo and what I've read here) for an empty/stock truck. Adding weight like winches, racks, RTTs "mess" it all up.

Getting HD springs isn't going to make it ride like an empty 3/4 ton.

Here’s my favorite suggestion for this question and it is perfect for you since your profile says you are in SoCal: Call Deaver Spring
https://deaverspring.com/

This is the route I went. I worked with the local off-road shop that was doing my Icon lift to use Deaver’s Springs in the rear instead of Icon’s. Essentially, I calculated the weight of everything in my loadout and they made springs for that weight range. Nothing against any of the lift manufacturers and their HD springs but ultimately a given spring from them might be too much or too little because they aren’t made for your load weight.

I have been extremely happy every time I have done this (I’ve done this to multiple vehicles). For the amount of money I have invested in doing the right things right on my current build, I just couldn’t see not spending the little bit extra to avoid “well…it’s close and should work”.

Here’s a pic with full loadout and sitting at 600# over GVWR:

I am running Clayton 3.5" Overland rear springs and they got me more like 4.5". Even loaded with a bed full of gear and pulling this trailer, they are hell for stout and ride great. You can see from the two pics that even with that much weight, they don't sag much.

About 200 with rack and thick rubber bed liner. I would probably max at another 3-400in bed and maybe 6-800 with all passengers so lets say 1200 max. But I don’t want it to be so stiff empty it jars my teeth. Since it will be empty most of the time

Are you stock height in the front, or on 40” tires? There’s like zero room for flex in the front based on this picture. On 37s I have 8.5” fender to tire in the front on 4.5” lift. In the rear I have the same 8.5” fender to tire on 3” lift. I tow a light small bass boat so I don’t need the rake like you do. Maybe the photo angle?

You are running a 3.5” spring and a 2” spacer in the front??? 5.5” up front?

have you replaced the front drive shaft yet, or picked up adjustable control arms?

I was wondering that too, and the front does appear to be pretty high. A driveshaft is recommended after 4” and I knew I was pressing my luck with 4 1/2” on mine. I even had to remove the crossmember when I installed my lift, it was easier than pulling the driveshaft. I figured I would be fine since I don’t disconnect the sway bar when wheeling so right now I’m just waiting for the carnage ?

I’d be very surprised if the op doesn’t run into issues at 5 1/2”

Dobinson has 3 different 3" springs with different weight ratings. I have there extreme hd version rated for around 800-1200lb and they have worked well for me. Not a single chipped tooth yet.

What I did. Have Clayton 2.5" diesel springs in the front with JKS adjustable spring seats with hydro bump stops for 4" of lift. The rear is Clayton 3.5" springs. It sits level. With the JKS in the front. When I decide on winch bump and winch. I can adjust the spring seat for the extra weight.
