It will move with the seat belt buckled. No Tazer needed.
I haven't tried it in drive, but if you shift to reverse with the door open, it will go into auto-park, but if you go back to park, then reverse again it says, "auto-park disabled" and continue. It very well may do the same for drive(forward). The safety feature may be there just to prevent accidental engagement and shifting to park and back to D or R may satisfy the system for purposeful movement.

Check your inbox.
you know how you can move the JT with the door open?

take the doors off.

I always thought that was an oxymoronic safety feature. But whatever. It's not such an annoyance.

Here’s another annoyance. The volume on the navigation guidance defaults to level 15 on every start up. How about remembering the last volume setting and leaving it there? Not all jeep drivers are hard of hearing with hair packed ear canals.

Who actually uses the Jeep navigation?

I paid for that feature and I will make use of it dammit! I also use the Send and Go feature in the Jeep App, even though its got a serious lag and doesnt actually “Send” anything to my navi until i’m already five minutes into the drive.

I do. Allstate gets pissy when I try to use the phone while moving. I hit the button on the steering wheel and tell it where I want to go. It came in handy the other night when I was responding to a fire call. I'm still learning all the obscure streets in my district and while the app on the phone will give me turn by turn directions, it's easier to have UConnect put it up on the 8.4 display and it keeps Drivewise happy.

This forum is great! I just got mine and this morning I was de-icing with the engine warming up, and it honked three times! I do just leave the fob in my jacket since I don't lock the doors (we don't have a lot of crime around here lol). Now I know why it does that.

And that feature also lets your neighbors know that you are awake and ready for the day!!!

I don't know anything about Allstate and Drivewise (not my insurance carrier) but Carplay and/or Android Auto will put your phone's Nav App on the Uconnect screen. I've honestly never used the built in nav because I find it easier to use Carplay and the Apple Nav App.

Yes it will through Android Auto. And that works for normal driving like going to the store, a restaurant out of town, trips, etc. I use AA frequently when time permits.

Now change the scenario slightly. Wake up abruptly to a pager for a structure fire at 0300, grab phone and tell Active Alert you are responding and grab the pager. Get to the back door grabbing the keys on the way by the kitchen counter and jump into your bunker pants. Grab your gear bag and open the garage door at the same time, throw bag in the bed, get in, start truck, turn on red lights and go. Plugging in the phone, stating Android Auto, bringing up the Nav app and then giving it an address just isn't going to happen when all I have to do is hit the button on the steering wheel and say navigate to 123 Sutton Rd Wentworth, North Carolina.

I don't find the factory Nav app all that bad. Are there better? Sure. Are there worse? Absolutely.

I'll concede your point. I'll also say that I don't have an android phone. I'll also concede that I don't have to rush out of the house to respond to emergencies.

BUT...I can do the same thing you described with Siri on my iPhone and CarPlay
