Caulking can get real messy real fast. I recently found a puddle under my rear mat and chased it back to the rear window. I'm still under warranty but the stories scare me so I am trying the rubber vacuum line first. Phone says it will start raining on Sunday with promised moisture for at least 5 days so this should be a good test.

FWIW, I had minor leaking from the top of the rear window, dripping down all across the inside rear, and making the carpet damp in the rear under the back seat. I bought a roll of 7mm hose off Amazon per the recommendation of one of the threads here about this issue, and installed it from the bottom left exterior corner, up the left side, across the top, and down the right side, cutting it off at the bottom (tucked in all the way around).

ZERO leaks since (fingers crossed), even during HEAVY rains.

Need to use the silicone vacuum hose not rubber. It will look better, easier install and last longer

Can someone explain the silicone add resolution, or the "rope" gasket material. I noticed a small drop of water on the sill inside the window area. Screw the dealer fixes, i want to just fix it myself

My back window started leaking like a screen door on a submarine and I don't have any patience for the dealership either - so I picked this up at Home Depot and tucked it in across the entire back window and down a couple inches on either side. Both 'halves' I tucked in there. Hasn't leaked since that I have noticed. Been several months now.

Fail! I watched the videos and followed the links and installed the rubber hose around the back window. We don't get much, if any, rain here and this is our wet season so I checked the window since it has been raining and it's still dripping in. I believe I may have pushed the hose in too far while trying to get a cleaner look and this may be leading to the fail. Still under warranty and it has to go back in for defroster door part issue. I'm going to say it and see what happens.

This is the silicone hose I used https://shorturl.at/czMN8

My rear window was replaced. The window man told the dealership that there was no way he was getting the window out without breaking it. So I got a new window and so far after a week with some heavy rain, all is well. I was told that they have not redesigned the window so a good possibility that it will begin to leak again at some point in the future. So I will be adding the hose to it myself to hopefully prevent that from occurring.
