Lots of comments about weight.

If you take a 35 inch two ply sidewall tire and add a third ply to the sidewall (with sidewall toughness complaints driving that decision), the tire is going to increase in weight.

You can’t have it both ways gents. More materials and a stronger tire means heavier. Period.
I think most of the comments are directed at the E rated heavy as sin 37’s. I personally think the 68 pound 35’s are OK, but they are missing the market by not offering a lighter 37. Plenty of other manufacturers have figured this out and offer more appropriate load range and weight tires for Jeeps and mid size trucks.

The Falken Wildpeak A/T4W is here at last and the new A/T4W is shaping up to outshine its immensely popular A/T3W in every respect. This includes tread depth, weather protection, and on-and off-road performance.

Previously only available on the Wildpeak R/T and Wildpeak M/T, Falken has introduced their three-ply DURASPEC technology into the A/T4W (available on select sizes). This construction is stiffer and thicker compared to it's 2-ply counterpart, to endure harsh off-road conditions. No matter the terrain, from smooth highways to rough paths, this all-terrain tire will keep you safe and secure. The three-peak mountain snowflake weather indication and weather-focused tread composition and pattern give it the ability to tackle almost any weather condition.

If you've already got your hands on a new set of WildPeak A/T4W tires for your Jeep Gladiator, we'd love for you to share your initial impressions along with a picture or two!

-KEY FEATURES-
  • A brand-new rubber tread composition ensures your tires provide long-lasting comfort on the road.
  • Falken introduced their revolutionary 3-ply DURASPEC Sidewall Technology. This technology is only available on certain sizes.
  • The new staggered shoulder blocks and projecting sidewall lettering work together for an extra grip, even on tough conditions.
  • The latest Heat Diffuser technology releases trapped heat from within the tire. This provides even more stability. Whether you're towing or carrying a heavy load.
  • Increased tread stiffness and a sturdy build allow for greater load capacities and tire pressures than A/T3W.
  • The tread pattern is both familiar and amplified. It has 3D Canyon Sipes and a silica-enhanced compound to improve performance and traction in snowy, icy, and rainy weather.

Man, I was so stoked until I saw 68lbs for the C rated 35x11.5. It is probably a really tough tire though. I bought these Goodyears and they are 55lbs for the 315/70. I know they aren't as tough of a tire but boy a 13lb/tire increase would be hard to take.

On the plus side, Discount has the Goodyears for $209/tire which seems crazy. Good tire but a very soft tread. I doubt they will get 50k miles but they are amazing in the snow.

Curious about the Goodyears, been looking but not sure I want to give them a try. How long have you had them, any issues?

Just got my original tires (AT3W) replaced with AT4Ws today. My 3’s were getting noisy and were down to 2/32 so I thought it time for an upgrade. My local DTC got them installed in like 20 min. I think they look great. I asked to have them put the raised lettering out.

They have been pretty good. They pick up a lot of rocks, and they are on the softer side for the rubber compound. The plus side of that is they have tons of grip everywhere. I went to Moab last year and towed my camper 1,000 miles, wheeled for 4 days, then towed back. No complaints there. The softness also makes them much better in the snow than a lot of tires I have run. I have really liked them this year in the snow and I have a factory set of AT3's I run as well.

I just really wanted to keep as much MPG's as possible when I went to 35's and the goodyears really do that. That is the main thing that differentiates them from the competition.

Thanks, exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm going to a 35, not worried about snow in Middle TN but more concerned about ride and longevity as I drive about 90 miles a day.

Checked with Discount Tire on some A/T4W 35 11.50 17s, they are stating they currently have month long back log on that particular size.

How can they be backlogged if they're not yet released and available in that size? They don't take pre-orders do they?

Not sure, its just what the Discount Tire guy said after he made a call to check on availability. From the perspective he displayed to me, they have been released but there is just a big demand for that size. All I know for sure is that I couldn't buy them.

I confirmed with Falken this morning. The initial quantity that was released (35X11.50R17) has been sold out. They are on back order with no ETA at this point.

Just installed a set of Wildpeak AT4s in 35/11.5R17 on a new set of Method bead grip 17x8.5s. Did all five as I plan on rotating the spare in.

Only about 80 miles so far but first impressions are very good.

On a side note: I don't know if it was the tires, the bead grip wheels or some combination of the two but they were by far the hardest tires to mount I've ever done. I've had a tire machine in the shop for over 25 years and done my share of tires over the years; these required a significant level of effort to seat the outer beads.

Do you keep your spare in the stock location?

Yes, fit with plenty of room, doesn't touch the heat shield but it's close to it.

Used the Tazer JL to adjust the speedometer and 34.79" was the setting needed to make it spot on.

Running 38 psi but looks like it should be a bit lower, I'll give it a couple hundred miles and take a look.
