This is SoCal, people don’t care. They’re more worried about getting to work on time. I’ve thought of the backlight thing but I think it might be illegal here. The rear bumper harpoon sounds like a good idea though.
I’m sure it’s illegal here as well, and I only do it when people are genuinely riding my bumper at less than half a car length on the interstate. They’re so bright that it usually works. If I get pulled over and ticketed for it, I’ll take that over getting rear ended.

Installed my Teraflex 1.5" front spring spacer kit (to compensate for front steel bumper/winch sag) and a local fella sold me his Maximus 3 XLP front hoop bar for $100. I think I finally have my "OEM Plus" look I've been after.

nice. I love the “OEM Plus” term. With mine, i thought, what did the designer want this to be before the engineering and regulation weenines got through with it. I think (hope) I achieved it as well.

I put in my Curt RV flat tow harness, a HK shackle tow kit, Warn winch plate with a Warn 9.0rc winch, I made a bracket to mount the control box horizontal. Grim light mounts installed and waiting for my amber Morioto 2Banger LED's.

Not sure why anyone would go through the headache and expense of retrofitting a hard wired front camera after this

I purchased a GreenYi 5G wireless Wi-Fi camera from Amazon. Install took about an hour and could have taken much less, but I tend do chase squirrels…lol. At some point I may correct the angle a bit due to a touch of OCD, but it’s damn close. So, I was out < $60 and have a camera with fully adjustable guidelines…through wireless technology…less a power and ground wire. The ground is run to one of the numerous fender ground posts and the power is ran to the cigar lighter switched power fuse in the fuse box.

The last 2 photos where from a horizontal screen, which were too large of files to upload so I screen shorted them in portrait mode.

After I save my penny’s, get and install a Bulletpoint dash mount I’ll mount an iPad mini so I can run multiple tracking maps at the same time.

Purchased this camera based on your post and put it on the bull bar. Questions about the wiring. Did you attempt to relocate the antenna and /or the other “bump“ in the wiring. I’m assuming this is some kind of resistor that reduces the voltage from 12v to USB voltage. These two items add quite a bit of wire that has to be accounted for and is difficult to conceal with a bull bar install.

He mounted his on the top center of the grill. I used the same location. In his screen shot you can see the bull bar in the camera view. When I upgraded my front bumper I added a low profile bull bar to avoid blocking the camera.
As far as the wiring, the grill mount is easy to hide the wires. On the bull bar I think the best you can do is either zip tie it to the backside or drill a hole in it to run the wire through the inside of it.

A lot of wire to put behind the bull bar. I would like to cut the two pieces out and put them where I want but not being sure what they are I’m reluctant to do so.

Now if I only knew Chinese, I would email them. ?. Not complaining, I knew what I was getting into at the price point. I’m happy with the camera function.

I wouldn’t want to cut my bull bar either. It already has a weak point at the mounting location. I would find my best method of concealing it and go with it.

I wasn’t clear. I want to cut out the two pieces in the wiring harness and position them where I want.

I ran the antenna behind the grill just under the plastic part that's clipped down at the top with the hood up. I've had no reception issues. I have the short Mopar bull bar and thought about installing int on the bar. While I'm not opposed to strategically using the old faithful Zip-Ties I elected not to.

Mine is a JTRD, where the fuse box is in front of the battery. I used a piggyback connecter on the cigarette lighter fuse, I think.

If you mean to have a longer cable at the camera end I think you can clip the wires and splice in an extension.

Getting back on this. I was under the hood this evening and was looking at the cable for the camera where the WiFi transmitter is attached. The wire is the same size on each side of the transmitter so it doesn’t look like there’s extra wires for the transmitter but if it’s carrying a video signal it might be a special cable. You could cut back the heat shrink on it to see how it’s wired without taking it apart to see if you can splice an extension in line.
