My OEM Front Trail Cam install thread

My pump: outlets facing INWARD towards center of truck, white "cam" output points towards front of truck:

@RustyC 's pump: outlets facing OUTWARD towards "passenger side" ( driver side for US ) of truck, white "cam" output points towards firewall:

In his case you can see why the cam hose reaches the black "windshield" output ... it's closer to the camera! You can also see his reservoir is completely different.

His truck is a total outlier, I doubt we will get another Australian doing this. There must be a different hose, as there is for diesels.

I haven't finished my install yet. I hope to finish it tomorrow. Mine being diesel, the hoses are too short and I need to extend it anyways. It is not much work for me to swap hoses. Definitely easier than swapping wires.

My underseat mount is installed.

One of you diesel guys needs to figure out the OEM camera to pump hose. Your washer reservoir is about 2 ft further away from the camera there has to be a part.

Came from a trip and had a few parts waiting for me. One in particular the wrangler center console I spoke of above. Yup, it definitely has a spot for the CVPM. As soon as I have a few open hours I’ll confirm it fits in our vehicles.

EDIT: I did a little closer look at the JL diagram and this is actually how it fits in. The center console came with the metal CVPM snap nuts (green things in pic). Looks like you use the CVPM Bolts to attach it. The bolts seem a bit long but I don’t see any other shorter hex flange head bolts that are on any other diagram. The green snap nuts are the exact same as the ones required for Jimmy’s install just green for some reason.

I am all buttoned up with new headlights, iDash with stealth mount, RedArc trailer brakes and rear power outlet, Recon flare extension. Gotta figure out the halo. Installed the diesel specific harness.

Nontheless, Didn't use the power cable for the washer.
Completely remade the hose from the bottle towards the front.

All the mods installed along while the TrailCam installation took some time! Happy to be done with them all!

The one we thought was the correct part number from all the MOPAR diagrams for the diesel is actually the one from the pump to the windshield. Looks like I’m in the same boat. Any advice on making the hose myself such as length, OEM hose material, and routing?

need to find someone with a diesel and factory trailcam and get the VIN...then ask a MOPAR parts counter. the diagrams suck.

Updated on my thread with links on what I used. I used the ends on the short hose and extended the middle section. You do need the ends (specially the end that connects to the front hose) and possibly little filter (I think) in the middle. Hose cost like 5 bucks and connection/fitting I already had for other projects.

1. Did you switch the wires in your existing harness to the washer pump or did you switch the hoses on the pump since you made your own hose?
2. Is the pump wiring harness the correct part number or does it not work on our diesels?
3. Did you just run the hose along the frame or did you choose a different routing and why? Sorry couldn’t see it in the pics.

I’m obviously at the pump now but am planning to head to NAPA to get a longer hose to create my own and am trying to use some of your best practices.

1. I did not switch any wires. There is no connector you can undo to remove the washer bottle harness in JTRD. Making the harness from the part list completely useless.

I connected the TrailCam washer on the left side of the pump and the windshield washer output on then right.

2. I did not use the wiring harness. I could not use it.

3. I went up over and ran the hose towards the front. Zip tied the washer hose to the existing cables and Trailcam Fakra Z cable. Used the ends and little bulge from the ordered Mopar hose.

I found the correct part# for the missing diesel washer hose: 68465694AA, I think. Every time I tear this vehicle apart I find another part I need making this project take months. Last question, if I button all this up without doing the pump yet, will it throw any codes or have any issues when coded WITH trail cam?

I thought about searching for the proper hose from Mopar but I wasn't going to let the hose stall the project. It is just a hose. All I needed was the length and the ends of the short hose transferred fine.

I think I paid like 5 bucks for the 10ft hose from Amazon and got it next day.

It will NOT throw any code. I know so. My CVPM was tested and AlfaOBD setting was executed 3~4 weeks ago. After that I took everything off trying to optimixe wiring length and add sleeves to the cables and wires. I barely got the project done. I didn't even have cameras connected for the past few weeks. No codes.

I rebuilt the center console with the JL CVPM attachment and it’s perfect! It added about 3 hours trying to figure it all out but here’s a pick of it upside down with CVPM installed. Just waiting on my dumba$$ to find a suitable crimping tool for the harness before reinstalling.
