I used an assortment of items to try to depress the tabs . I think my biggest helper was knowing other people did it so I can too no matter what my hand size . Some times waking away and try again tomorrow helps
The reason I keep trying is both knowing that other people did it, and knowing I did it on a wrangler.

I have 2 separate threads on here about this because during a rage I couldn't find the first to continue bellyaching. I still haven't done it but I haven't tried again either. As suggested to me, I think a long thin set of needle nose pliers might help. Jewelry pliers. https://www.amazon.com/Jewelry-Pliers/s?k=Jewelry+Pliers
I have a pair of these ICON pliers that I tried. Great tool, very useful, just not for this job? Also have a much smaller one, similar to the jewelry ones that you linked to. I might give them a tug as well.

your gonna find this funny (not really). mine is an AUG 23' build as well. Mine was obvious tho, It had glue very similar to what i see in server cards at work. its a semi clear putty looking stuff. you heat it up and it becomes malleable. I pulled off my knee cover panel, the footwell trim, and the seat to get it the first time. even after i got the glue of i got a really long precision flathead to depress the tab while i yanked down with my other hand. It was a process to say the least.
Thanks for the reply. Wonder if the 2024s also have the glue? Yeah I pulled the panel under the steering wheel and disconnected the door bracket and footwell trim so I can swing the door open wider. My close up vision sucks, but I am going to take a long look to see if I see any signs of glue. I have the precision screwdriver tools, not sure they are long enough though. I can't believe they are glueing these things now, it was hard enough to get them off without glue on my JLUR Wrangler.

EDIT: Was also thinking of removing the seat, but not really excited about doing that.

EDIT 2: Son of a bee, I took a look with a really bright light and sure enough there is something along both sides of the male connector and also along the side near the tab where excess something oozed out. Well at least now I know why I can't get them out. Now what to do next.? Not sure I want to pull the dash apart. Frikkin Stellantis.

EDIT 3: Well found out today that whatever I was seeing wasn't glue. Job is done.

Probably gluing the plugs in so that you can't install devices like Tazers.

More likely so you can't easily bypass the SGW for nefarious reasons - like theft.
People keep bitchen' there's not enough security - well, those cables are so easy to access and unplug.......... be happy if they are gluing them in place!
Can't have it both ways!
You want it easy for your tazer, but then complain if it's too easy for thieves, then complain if they take a simple step to make it harder for thieves.
Bypassing that SGW is a simple task and allows a lot of access to thing - so very easy to get to.

Even if I wasn't going to steal it, that's a perfect place for me to access, plug in a cable, connect a BT OBD adapter, then sit and wait for you to start your truck and drive away - and I disable your brakes and shut off your PS pump.
Maybe mess with it so I could carjack it more easily.

Which is it? What do we want? Security? Easy for us is easy for anyone.

Sorry for laughing but seeing total honesty
A little self-deprecation never hurt anyone. I usually laugh out loud like a mental patient thru most my failures and I have no problem admitting them and sharing for the enjoyment of others. :)

One hint, that might already be in the other thread the OP mentioned - If you pull down on the plugs and the tab isn't 100% depressed, it kind of gets locked in limbo. At that point no amount of tab pressing or pulling hard will make it come loose (a lot of these types of connectors behave the same way). This sounds counter-intuitive, but try pushing the plug BACK IN and you'll hear or feel a slight click. Then, try pressing the tab again, make sure it's fully disengaged, and gently pull the connector out.

One other "hint" I'll give - if anyone has a JT still under warranty, you need to re-engage the SGW before you take it in for any dealer service. When you show up to the dealer they usually install an OBD dongle which downloads all the information to their shop computer when they check you in. If the SGW is not in place, their dongle won't work and most service folks will not check you in.

The first time this happened to me, I spent 20 min under my dash trying to screw around with the cables (I did not have the extensions). That was not fun - bloody knuckles and all, with other customers in line behind me and the whole service dept staring at me while I cursed out loud from under the dash ?

Each to their own, I prefer to have options and I'm not complaining.

I don't plan on having it bypassed anywhere but in my garage.

These connectors are not easy to get to, nor are they easy to unplug. Granted a Z Automotive extension would make it easier for a crook, but if they want your Jeep bad enough they will get it no matter what you do.

Someone educated enough about these connectors probably also knows about the unsecured, much much easier to get to, canbus connector behind the glove box.

Besides, why even have the SGW connectors if they are going to be glued and not to be used? Jeep could save dollars to not have the SGW bypass connectors on every wrangler and gladiator going forward.

Hey I'm in Jax and could come take a look. I didn't have any trouble getting mine out.
Cool, I will send a PM.
