It has been a challenging time since a couple of weeks before Easter. It all seems like a blur.
We will lay my dad to rest on Tuesday.
I'm looking forward to some sunny day cruises with my bride to get my soul back into shape.

Went the cheap route and bolted some fork mounts on a couple 2x4s so I could throw the bikes in the bed. With the cover off I can close the tailgate, but I’d rather leave it on and strap the rear wheels down so I can cover the bed at the beach while riding.

Can you share a pic of the 2x4 with brackets? Wife and I have the same brand ebikes and same colors. They are nice. The kids tells we are cheating.... I am ok with that. Lets see where they are at in the 60's....

I’ll try and get some more pictures tonight if I can remember, it’s a pretty straightforward project. I just drilled holes through one 2x4, bolted it to the fork connections, then sandwiched another 2x4 beneath it. Maybe 20 minutes of my time and it was all done.

Oh man..... I'm sorry, terrible news. I know words dont help much, but I hope some Jeep therapy helps to give your soul some peace it needs.

And nice sticker on the side mirror.

That's exactly why I went ahead and got it setup.
He lived a very long and happy life. 99.99995% of it was in good health. The last was tough, but in the grand scheme of things it will fade and be replaced by the good times.
He would have been 94 in late July.

Well that is great to hear despite the sad news. Loss is tough, theres no easy way about it. But hopefully soon all that will remain is the happy good memories and none of the sad. If it were me, I would be taking a trip to my dad's favorite place. For whatever that is worth to you.

Cheers to your old man. ?

We got that one knocked out a few years ago, when I took both him and my uncle to their old homeplace. I spent my share of time there too, with my grandparents.
They didn't own the place. They were sharecroppers.
They told me some great stories the whole way there and the whole way back.
My dad in the blue shirt.

That is a GREAT question. The bar is 1.91 inches NOT 2.5 inches like the Rugged Ridge site lists. (Amazon have me a $75 discount for customer satisfaction...)

I used these https://a.co/d/cB5ypWl with the 1.875" inserts. Fits PERFECT!

For the HF Roadshock Edge bracket, I had to grind a little of that HF bracket to mount it how I wanted it. Reversed the bracket and mounted it on top of the bar clamp.

Used security screws to make it harder on theives. Gonna paint the screws black once I'm done aiming them.

I think the 4 LED pods would have been fine... I thought about doing three 4 LED mounted over the top. My son will use these for his jk if I do.

Oof. sorry to hear. Losing a parent is never easy. Both of mine are gone at this point, lost my Mother last July. Very weird feeling to not have either parent around anymore. It does get better.....

Nahhhhh, you'll catch more hell for having 20" wheels
Lmao you’re right, but I got that quote for new wheels and tires and thought to myself “these 20s actually perform pretty good for what I do Offroad” ??

Had to somewhat preserve the wallet

ok ok i give up! what's the dig on 20" rims? i must have missed the memo. i knew the moment i wanted a gladiator, it would be on 40s. every picture i saw of a 40 on a 17" rim, it made me think of Wimpy over inflating Popeye's tires! cartoonish in my mind. but that's just my opinion and blurry black & white animation recollections!

I think with 40s they look perfect, 35s maybe a bit to “large” for some peoples taste. Personally I drop down to 18ish PSI when I’m offroad and it’s been fine for me.

Could also maybe be a cost thing, these were stupid expensive because they’re 20s. But it is what it is. Different strokes for different folks
