None of your business :)
It's the same as the "fake" hood on the Tacoma Sports trim. People simply get it just to get their dick hard.

I opened up the oem vents on my Rubi, and cut the insulation to match the vents. Didn't see any difference in oil or water temps. When parked or going slow. you can see the heat come out tho.

Was also thinking of opening up the vents and cut the insulation to let out trapped heat. On my 2019 ScatPac Challenger it came factory with the heat exchanger hood. Has vents just like my Rubie! Just angled differently. Open to everything falling from the sky, rain, snow…… never once had an issue. Never garaged. Used to love to see steam coming out of the vents after snow or cold rain while at a red light.

There is a CAI that has a kit that utilizes the passenger side scoop for air flow to the air box.

The kit also contains a scoop for the driver side that allows air flow to/from the engine bay.

Someone has a ewetoob vid up and documents that the engine temp did drop after doing the mod.

The big concern, is forcing water into the air box on rainy days.
S&B makes the intake you are talking about… and it is only for Gas powered rubicons :(

they also sell just the “scoops” that don’t connect to the intake.

Noticed any side effects of debris or water coming through the vents?

Not really. Just more dirt sitting on different parts under the hood.

Ok so let me ask about the side vents, and help opening them?

My motobilt set showed up.

I’m debating if I should raptor line them with a rattle can or just do it ”right” and get them powder coated.

Thoughts?

Black Steel-It for the fins and black VHT chassis enamel for the trim to give it a two tone look.
