2024 Dealer Warranty or not?

I passed on purchasing any Dealer Warranty when I picked up my 2024 Mojave. No issues at all but having second thoughts on whether that was the right move. Thoughts?

I went ahead and got one on my 24. I’m one of those statistical glitches that seems to break something really $$$ just days after the factory warranty expires.

The only extended warranties worth the paper they are written on are the ones offered by the manufacturers. Dealers don't make as much gross profit on them and can offer some shady BS that won't pay consistently. In fact one of the most prevalent frauds is in the auto warranty industry space. Frankly, I'd pocket the cash and take my chances.

What is your ownership time expectancy? IMO; Calculate the cost per month of the MFG only service contract/ coverage and if you have the discipline put the amount in a interest bearing savings account for escrow should you need to pay for repairs after the 3yr vehicle warranty expiration. If not spent you have a nice $$s for modifications or vacations.

Dealer warranties are overpriced scams. When I bought the JTM it was priced at around $6K and I refused it. You can still buy a Mopar warranty. I bought mine five months after purchase of the JTM at about 1/3 of the dealer price.

I can’t even remember if our Dealership offered one on our 2024 ….. We would’ve said NO anyway.

I would never buy an extended warranty when buying the vehicle. I’d never buy anything that’s Aftermarket either. I’d wait until close to the end of your 3/36 before considering buying anything.

You’ve gotta weigh your options….. Yes, they’re more expensive if you wait. You have to weigh your options in price/cost. Cost of warranty to buy it…. the Coverage you get …. VERSUS…. having a repair done on your own (If you ever need a repair).

My husband and I have had many new vehicles over the years…Most of them we’ve kept for 5-10 years…... from Toyota’s, Acura, Infinity, GMC, BMW……. and now the JT. We’ve never purchased any extended warranties ever… and haven’t had any issues with our vehicles that needed a warranty (knock on wood).

Only buy a Mopar Extended Warranty. They are matched to your VIN and available for use at any authorized dealer location. You can buy one at any time before the 3/36 Warranty expires without an inspection. There are a few states that don't allow it, but you can usually get a better price from the out of state discount dealers that rely on volume for better pricing than the local dealer can offer. The Mopar Extended Warranty, for new vehicles, starts with the original sales date of the vehicle and not with the purchase date for the warranty. Buy it soon, as the price goes up with the age and mileage of the vehicle. You may not get the full amount back, but the Mopar Extended Warranty is refundable if canceled without being used.

Extended warranties, even through MOPAR, are a profit center for the dealers. Markup is insane and despite what most dealers will say, they can price them at cost but won't. As said by others, a) only a MOPAR warranty, b) get it from a discounting dealer (several are on here), c) if you get rid of the truck prior to the expiration of the warranty get the pro-rated refund.

I live in a state that prohibits internet sale of warranties. But I called Moapr and was referred to another Mopar agent who offered me the same price as available on the web. Quite reasonable if you want to but the warranty.

I got one on my 21. Third party through the credit union, pd 1800.00. Had to put the jeep in the service center at the dealer and 3200.00 later I got it back with a 100 deductible. They are worth it if you have to use them. The jeep is pushing 90k.

The big questions are *whether* they will pay and *what* they will pay for. I’ve read way too many aftermarket warranties that are full of arbitrary procedures and exclusions that they can hang their hat on in denying the claim. Add on ‘arbitration’ provisions and they are frequently a waste of money. It sounds like you got lucky and got a ‘good’ one at a not ridiculous price.

If you're planning on keeping it somewhat stock than get it, otherwise skip it. I values my time and prefer not wasting my times with the dealers.

You can get the same Mopar Warranty your dealer offered here. They have been able to beat any local dealer pricing. I have used them multiple times as they are a volume dealer. Use dpacifica code for another $365 off. Didnt Mopar recently cancel their warranties for an entire state? CA or FL was it? Pro rated refund, but still money wasted for everyone that never had warranty work done. At least a big name dealer wont do that(read the fine print, of course)
