Do you mind sharing the link for temu? I couldn't find anything on aliexpress. Searching on temu, I found some dongles that looked close but in the listing it seems they're for VAG applications.
Not on temu, but this is the one I got from AliExpress.

I think the compatibility list is pretty massive, VAG, EcoDiesel, Ford, it's a pretty comprehensive list in the software.

I did take the Jeep for a drive today and the cloned ECM worked flawlessly. It's also maybe worth noting that I cloned a professionally tuned and "locked" ECM. Didn't cause any problems.

And I used all the software just as it came on the disc. Disconnected from the Internet, installed the software and drivers, and it all worked.

Just ordered the same unit. I've got my extra Ecu with me so will be giving this a go about a week or so from now.

I’m having a difficult time getting dealerships to do the cloning. They get concerned about compatibility of the new PCM I am supplying because they didn’t order it and ask to see my receipt to insure it is brand new. Then they start asking why I need it done and who advised me to do it.

This is the exact issue I ran into thus me ordering the Tuner to complete it myself. Was getting annoyed and don't really have the availability to send both ECU's out to a tuner as it's my daily work vehicle too.

Tell them you're planning to do the AlCan highway next year and it's one of the many spares you'll be taking along.

I had this issue with local dealer as well. Told them I was looking at multi-day off-road trip and didn’t need the issue others have haD so I needed spare. I ended up having a local guy clone mine.
Look for a local tuner. They can probably help

So, it let you clone a tuned ECM? Does the clone act like a stock ECM, or did the tune transfer over also?

Correct. It appears to be a flawless 1:1 clone of the tune. I drove it around a bit and felt exactly the same and didn't throw any codes or lights.

Tbf I don't know how you could end up with any version other than the one you're trying to to copy. The important part is nothing prevented me from pulling the data.

So just out of curiosity....anyone here doing the cloning for others....I have a spare and I am looking to get the cloning done before sending out to GDE or EOC....not sure which I will choose yet.

Just wanting to see if any of yooz want to make a few bucks.

I talked to GDE and they no longer have to do a bench flash which mitigates the need for a clone. They are only unlocking the PCM and the user applies the tune or returns to stock while installed on the vehicle.

Right....but some want to keep a spare ecu with stock tune for going to dealership.....at least I do. Isn't this why we have 2 ECUs? This isn't the same as tuning a mustang with a tuner. Maybe I am not understanding this.

I understand you talked to EOC. MR Tuning still states you have to send ECM in to get flashed.....my understanding MR Tuning is EOC....am I wrong???? I guess maybe they have not updated their website.

Not sure about MR Tuning, but GDE will now allow you to switch from tuned to stock with the included device. Now, is that easier and/or quicker than switching out the ECU? Don't know, as it is a pain to reach up and unplug those cables every time you would want to do that.
BUT, seeing as how apparently now you can copy a tuned ECU (from GDE) it would be great to do that and have a spare on hand.

Swapping the ECU is the more difficult task. I had mine unlocked this week, reinstalled the ecu last night, and I’m installing the tune this evening.

People have different motivations but I think part of the desire to clone the stock ECM for many is to tune the second one, leaving the original entirely intact and original. Not like they're going to go poking around unless they have reason to suspect something, but I'm sure they're able to see that a ECM has been recently flashed.

Once you've popped the ECM in and out a couple times it becomes a trivial task. I can swap mine in under 10 minutes.

I'm speaking as somebody who overwrote their original ECM because I was being cheap, but in hindsight I wish I'd cloned first and kept the original. And that's what I recommend others do.
