Please confirm OEM Mopar Steel Front Bumper and Steel Skid Plate from a 392 will direct fit the JT Rubicon that currently has the "plastic" bumper.

It's my understanding the rear mounting holes are slightly different. I've seen reference to enlarging the holes into an oblong shape allows the plate to be remounted. As soon as my Grimm winch plate arrives I'll know for sure. I found a brand new steel take-off bumper that came with a skid plate to replace my plastic front bumper. The seller indicated the difference.

From what I have seen and think, the OE bumper and SP from a 392 does not fit onto a JT. They are completely different, in my understanding. There is not much on the 392 that can be used on other Jeeps. I did put a Rubicon steel bumper and SP on my JTM. I did have to open the rear mount holes (oblong) for it to fit. Good Luck!!

I must be missing something, why get a 392’s steel bumper, instead of a JT Rubi/Mojave take off? Any special features, or was it just the right price?

All jt and jl bumpers fit. The jeep/ mopar steel bumper isn't bad if you get it cheap but will need several hundred dollars in add ons to run a winch.

Worked for my Willy’s. The steel bumper and skid plate off a 392. I did need to use a metal file on some of the skid plate bolt holes. I filed by hand which did not take long, just needed a little bit removed.

Yes. My steel bumper is a 392 take-off. I don't have the skid plate but that should be the same too.

This is incorrect. There is one steel, 3-piece bumper in mopar's catalog of parts and it fits both JL and JT's across all trim levels, the only difference is what color tow hooks they put in. As for the back bumper the JT steel rear bumper is a direct bolt on with no modification necessary. If you had to oblong some holes then you have a tweaked frame or a tweaked bumper.

I think the holes on the skid plate we had to ream out a bit might be due to the winch plate. Thinking about it now as it’s been some time, the skid plate holes lined up just fine before I installed the winch plate and winch. I’ve had the bumper and skid plate on about a year before the winch was bought and installed.

That would make since about the winch plate and winch. When we were dry fitting everything it was fine, install winch and plate had to modify holes.

Adding a 1/4" thick piece of metal between the frame horns and bumper changes the alignment on the vertical bolts through the skid.... who would have thought? You effectively moved the front bumper forward by the thickness of the winch plate mounting ears.

my truck came with plastic bumper and skid plate. YES you need a different skid plate, the plastic one will NOT work without modification.
this is the mopar steel bumper. came with fog lights installed( I already had LED's) 8 bolts and plug in the wires. took me about 30 mins including taking a call from the GF to see if i was done yet.
the triple hoop is the maximus triple hoop.

I have a 2023 JT Rubicon. I want to order the 392 bumper to replace my cheap OEM non-steel bumper. What fog lights would work with the 392 bumper and do the connectors need to be modified?

2020 - 2025 steel bumpers are identical. Fogs are not. 24+ fogs have a different harness. There's no ' 392 bumper ' other than Gold tow hooks or longer crush cans if factory winch in the donor vehicle. It's all the same. People who say they had to hog out skid holes screwed up and did not remove certain things on their Jeeps.

There was a certain bracket on my Mojave which came with a plastic bumper ( and steel skid ) in 2021 that interfered with the steel bumper native skid. I didn't even notice it until the skid didn't fit...removed the Mojave brackets.... steel bumper skid fit.

Since you have a 2023 if you buy a used bumper with fog lights you just need to confirm what year it came off of. If it's 2020 through 2023 and includes the LEDs you're fine. If it's a 2024 or 2025 you're going to need to buy 2020 - 2023 LED fogs for a steel bumper. Plastic bumper LED fogs are different.

By the way if you order this bumper from Mopar it's going to come with LED fog lights. It's possible now they are only shipping the version with 24+ fogs
