Point taken. That may have been the feedback for the last CEO, we may never really know.
Something tells me you may be more correct than you think.
Man, the sales people at various levels I have talked with in recent months - no love lost for the last guy, but a lot of hope for the future now.

No, the options were
3.6 with auto
3.6 with manual
2.0 (there were two options with this but one had một power than the other)
6.4 auto
WTH!? Most of us don't want a 6.4L, 700hp, $20k engine upgrade!!! Neither do we want an Itty bitty superultraturbocharged 2.0 liter wonder that is going to disintegrate after 100k miles due to the stress. Why the heck can't I just get a danged 5.7L (or at least a 4.7L) V8 for just 3-4 thousand more than the anemic 3.6L V6, just like the Ram 1500 used to offer??? One that isn't stressed out & will last 200k miles!!

I received a marketing survey about the Gladiator today. It asked what engine I would choose based on performance and based on price. It asked if I would prefer for the next Gladiator to have integrated fenders or continue to have external fenders. It asked if I would prefer the next Gladiator be based on the Wrangler or the original Gladiator. There were a few other questions, but I am glad they are putting some thought into the next Gladiator.

I have just bought my second Mojave edition. I really hope to get a survey. The 5.7L hemi is what these trucks need the most. I don’t want or need a 392, most people don’t race their gladiators at the track. But for towing and crossing the Rocky mountains on the interstate, a healthy V8 is a must. I’m missing how Stellantis can’t figure that out

As much as I want to see a 392 or Hurricane version of the Gladiator ... I am afrain it is more likely that the mass market appeal drives the next generation design. Especially when I see questions asking about styling of fendors, should it align with the wrangler, etc, etc, etc .... I have a hard time seeing them doing anything other than dropping the Wrangler-like approach and repurposing the platform to try to compete in the "economy truck/car/thing" class with the like of the Maverick, Ranger and Canyon.

That's my nightmare scenario for the Gladiator ... let's hope it doesn't happen
I doubt the Gladiator will end up like that, more likely that Jeep would take a Cherokee or other small platform and chop it into a small truck platform. All the ones you mentioned are unibody and signicantly smaller in every dimension than the Gladiator.

As for the engine options: none of the ones in the survey appealed to me. I'd like a V8, but not the 392. It's too expensive, the packaging is a nightmare with the small engine bay (one of the reasons I want a J10, J20, or M715 style front clip). The other issue is reliability, the 392 is known to blow up the t-case.

The engine I'd like to see is a simple N/A V6 or I6 with a focus on longevity and build quality. Maybe a small V8, but I doubt that would work with CAFE. I want an overpowered cooling system for 4-low and towing in hot weather - Big radiator, oil cooler, and trans cooler.

Hopefully they find a cure for it.
I think it's called "Toyota".........

My thing is that if it has to be made TOO different, what's the cost? And what would it compete with?

I'm amazed at the amount of current JT owners that don't want the next gen to look like a Wrangler.
Most of the aftermarket parts made for the Gladiator are due to the fact that it is so similar to the Wrangler. If they stop basing the Gladiator on the Wrangler, we will lose our huge aftermarket support.

Yeah, something that, some day, might become your next wood truck, or farm truck, or severe weather truck.

In some cases, I suspect they could do both, for both platforms. There are a lot of larger trucks that started life with the smaller integrated fenders, that then got some bigger aftermarket fenders added on. These things are just a big LEGO on wheels … I would love to see them embrace that pattern even further.

edit: just think of anything that counts as sprung weight, and angry grills don’t count.

The first thing the survey tells you is that this is non-public information and that by participating you agree not to share it.

It's a thinly disguised marketing technique. Call it a secret and the recipient thinks they have valuable information and wants to share it more.

It's 2025. Large corporations are sending out surveys to find out how much they can rape their customers. How far are you willing to bend over? Are you willing to grab your ankles?
It's so wild. Is this Hemi without hemispherical heads made with exotic materials? Flat plane crank? 9k RPM? Titanium sodium filled valves? No? Then no....not 19k.
