Is this the plug that people are removing to run wiring through the firewall? If so, how do you get to come off? It’s really tight I there and I can barely access it. It’s to the right of the brake master cylinder. I have the aux switches, but I only want to use one and I’m using the rocker switch on the wiring harness to alternate between flood and spot light.

Yes - that’s the one. Technically to the left of the brake booster (when in the driver’s seat). It’s a bitty to get out , and tough to get back in. I used needle nose pliers and reefed it out, then greased it up with silicone to get it back in. Drilled a couple hole in it while out to route the wires.
That being said - the aux switches have two bundled ends. One set behind the glove box for interior wired items, and another under the hood for exterior items ( such as lights). Mine’s a diesel so it may be different on the gassers, but mine it along side the battery (on the right side of the engine bay).
Just wanted to make sure you were aware of those choices - you may not need to use that plug at all.
Good luck.

Yeah. It’s the same on the 3.6ls.

Actually. Would it work to run the toggle switch off an inside aux switch? I don’t think they could. They’d need a signal. I think I have to go through the firewall regardless.

I think you're right - I forgot about your rocker switch.
Unless you want to run each set on a separate aux switch - then you could have one, the other, or both on any any time you chose.
I kept "saving" my aux switches for "something else" that might be needed. I ended up using only one of them, and added a Vox-switch box on the grab handle. Believe it or not, I have too many switches now. I find myself looking for excuses to use them but rockets, missiles and guns are cost prohibitive at the moment.

Need to turn that plug about 1/8 th of a turn. The hole in the firewall isn't round, it has four notches in it. The back (cabin) side of that plug has four sloped ramps and two sets of prongs. Turning the plug lines the ramps and prongs up with the notches and it will come out.

Twist it, as if you were unscrewing it. Not a big deal once you do it and see how it works.

Yes, unless you have a manual transmission JT, as that's where the hydraulic cylinder would go.

When installing the snow plow wiring on my 2022, I took that plug out, drilled it for a rubber grommet, ran the cable for my snow plow controller and control power through it and reinserted the plug into the firewall.

I then put a bit of black silicone sealer around the cable and grommet to seal it.
The picture is from before I put the silicone sealer around the cable going through the grommet that I put into the plug.
