I'm in the queue too. You'd think they'd have dozens of these maintained in inventory given there are plenty of people who have issues.

Check local junkyards !!!! A good used Cam is not to be ignored as if it isnt damaged then how is it not as good as a new one. I wouldnt be above doing that.

You just need to watch the wear carefully.
I'd also wonder about putting a 2020 cam in a 2024 for example.
There was a change somewhere as one of the TSBs talks about a PCM update after a cam replacement. They must have made some profile changes along the way.

Where is Iskenderian when we need him? With so much backlog and need for upgrades, why hasn’t the aftermarket responded?

My dealership is telling me they need a Gen 2 cam for my 2021. They tell me they will only purchase from their supplier for warranty work. Won't keep individuals from purchasing aftermarket but it may impact any warranty you have left.

Yeah, but unlike my younger days - I'd bet these would require some PCM mods.

Isky- among the very best.
Why hasn't the aftermarket jumped in? I'd almost bet you can't make cam profile changes of any real significance without the PCM being modified.

Yeah there were apparently changes made to the cam - and it required 2020s be updated as far as a "flash".

And of course there's the catch - to stay in warranty and have Jeep cover it, the dealer is sort of stuck. You can buy cams and do your own - but don't expect warranty to cover any of it if there's still power train warranty left.

Once that's up, though - you can do whatever.
And if you don't care about warranty and just need the truck back ASAP, that's another choice to make.
