Choices are good. Gladiator has been out for over 6 years now and I am sure they had more then enough time to test other engines. I guess all that is left is certifications which can take time.
As much as i would love a 5.7 Hemi in the JT if you give me a new diesel option and i am a happy man. I still enjoy the V6 and would not mind an upgraded 3.6 in the future if possible.

I voted no simply because of the price tag mentioned. Neither I nor most other buyers have any desire for a $100k Gladiator (or a $50k sport), but if we're already shelling out $60k, another $3k is not a deal breaker. Make the 5.7L a $3000-$4000 upgrade for whatever level of trim I want, and heck yes I'll buy one. I told Jeep ~25 yrs ago that if they'd make a new "Scrambler" (Gladiator) , I'd buy one. They did, and I did.

The diesel was a $4,000 option in all trim levels but for the Mojave. Now if they could do the same thing with the Hemi.

Everyone forgets - COOLING
(been mentioned in other hemi threads here so maybe not everyone reads those)
COOLING is key to the towing numbers on these. They played hell trying to get to the numbers they got.
IS there some fudge factor? Perhaps, but a hemi will require more cooling.

As far as price - people can't see how it could possibly cost so much - if the CAFE fines were ever brought back, the cost associated with a Jeep vs. a Ram as far as missing the CAFE numbers are one reason for the costs.
People also fail to understand that.
In the day (however long or SHORT that time will be) of $0 fines, that may change, but..............
There's still COOLING.
You can't just plot a hemi in these and not deal with the new SAE testing and the cooling issues.

If wishing made things so - OMG, would my life be different.
If wishing made obstacles go away - just imagine..
just give it a real gladiator nose, like the Convoy concept or the original Prototype, Plenty of room for a bigger radiator. Also Bonus: plenty of folks would have thier wallets open trying buy the nose kits from Benny like they did for the 2024 grill!

Great point, I thought "Cooling" was the reason the diesel is "tuned down" when put in the Jeep and towing is rated below the gas version...maybe they'll put an extra radiator in the back somewhere (joke)....

Best spot is directly beneath the driver's seat.

So how does the 392 keep cool in the JL?
Can you tow 7,000 pounds with a JL?
It's about LOADING the engine. In a JL, it's just pissing along, not doing any work, so not generating any BTUs the cooling system can't remove.

Cooling systems 101. Engine heat rejection 101. 😁 😁

If I want a Ram truck, I'll buy a Ram truck and put a Jeep grill on it.

Hope Stellantis doesn't do what GM did for years - create a car in one division (Chevy for example) and copy it panel for panel and simply put different trim on it and call it a Buick..
