I would opine here that a vehicle being popular with its fringe market, makes it appeal more to its core buyer group. Here we go again!
The unfortunate truth is the builders and modifiers are not their core market. Far, far more people buy Jeeps for what they are and do minimal work to them if any. This "audience" you refer to is a very tiny subset. Definitely not enough of a subset to support its own product line. That means they will build and price and option for the larger non-builder market.
If the point you’re making is that the group buying gladiators is majority made up of regular people who don’t build and do nothing with them, I’d ask why is it so appealing to them then? It’s because it comes with an image, that image is perpetuated by the people out there doing something with them. I agree. Jeep should invest in that. Let that core group be the marketing tool that makes others want to buy them.. I can’t think of a family of vehicles that is more community focused. Jeep knows this and does some things to leverage it but I think they could do so much more. I’d 100% buy a 5.7 hemi gladiator at 50k. Hemi swaps are 30k and the cheapest used gladiators are about 20 something anyway.
