This '25 Gladiator is my first Jeep I've ever owned. Thus far, with the MetalCloak 2.5GC lift, 35" tires, it drives really nice. This past weekend I went out for an overnight excursion with NM Overlanders and had a great time east of Taos in the mountains.

While I was airing up the tires I noticed a ticking sound that was not present any other time I've had the hood open. When I purchased this Jeep back in May, I took care to drive carefully, trying to break in the engine, and then changed the oil at 700 miles. Now at 4502 miles, I noticed a rattling.

Anybody care to take a listen and give me your input?

That sounds like a particularly loud injector.

The other videos I’ve heard with the problematic noise have more of a “hollow tap” kind of sound, like you’re clicking your tongue or something.

Either way, being a ‘25 the bumper to bumper warranty is in effect so just take it in for a look.

Sounds like mine. 2022 Sport S 3.6 46,000 with just slightly oversized tires as you can see in my profile pic. I think it’s normal. While parked, give it a rev or two, if no cam damage, the sound should not increase in frequency.

Sounds just like mine as well. Noisy injectors. Mine is also on the right.

Just take it to the dealer. It shouldn't take them more than a few weeks to listen to it.

They're noisy engines. Yours sounds normal. If you want peace of mind yes you can take it in and have them look at it but you probably won't have your truck for about a month and you'll get it back with door dings possibly a cracked windshield and oil all over the seats.

Put some Seafoam injector cleaner in it.
I have had one that was always a little loud and then on cold morning would stick and tick louder . After it would warm it calmed down . Started running seafoam every 3rd tank and shaped right up.

Listen OP the right side is louder because hidden from ypur eyesight under the top plenum and on top of the (echo chamber) of the intake is a near 2 inch piece of industrial grade Styrofoam crap . It very effectively deadens the sound of the injectors on the driver side.

My 2024 probably started ticking at around 500 miles on the odometer and got progressively louder. Took it in at 8000 miles, now going through problem after problem. Cam, then phasers x2, now developed another tick. I don't know what is going on with Jeep, but seems to be all too common of a problem.

Don't drive it TOO carefully......... these are made to flex, yes, I mean the engine. Babying it won't do it any favors. I drove mine just like I was always going to, and I can say that about every car I've ever bought, every truck, or every engine I've built - once it leaves my garage, I drive it normally. Vary the RPM, avoid sustained slow speeds, don't abuse it but don't baby it.

Liqui Moly has been an absolute wonder for making this engine much quieter. After the last oil change I slipped a can of this stuff in, and it's been very quite since then. Very happy with the results: Liqui Moly MoS2 Anti-Friction Engine Treatment | 300 ml | oil additive | SKU: 2009

No oil additives for me, thank you.
If there's a mechanical issue, I don't want it covered up or masked,
and
additives can mess with the chemistry of oil making it less protective over-all and reducing it's life.

No oil maker ever says it's ok to put in additives and at least two people very knowledgeable in oils say "don't do it".

Use at your own risk.

For the OP, it's 90%+ loud injectors.

In my case when the cam went, I could drive no problem as long as I kept it under 5k RPM. Going over that would induce a misfire in Cyl 1 and light up my dash. The engine was only slightly louder, similar to sitting in a parking lot having windows up vs. down.
