What are you looking for in a tire? Do you want a highway tire, mud terrain, all terrain? There are a lot of options.

What's your priority? Is it Off road, Highway, or towing behind your motorhome?

It's hard to give you a recommendation without this information.

Goodyear Wranglers are great Highway Tires that tow well behind the motorhome.
Goodyear also makes 2 versions of their Duratracs, one that's an allterrain tire that runs well on the highway and tows well behind the motorhome. They also make a more aggressive tread that I have been very happy with on my Gladiator. Why Goodyear. Because I am a USAA member and they have a great discount tire program.

Then with towing behind the motorhome you need to look at the ply of the tire. You can have as little as 4 ply or up past 10 ply. But that adds weight and then concern about added weight behind the motorhome.

Just some things to think about.
I've had several sets of Goodyear tires because they treat me well. Good wear and traction.

Current set is Goodyear Ultraterrains from Discount Tire. They have 67k miles on them and they've been great.

Have a 2024 GLADIATOR Willy with FIRESTONE / DESTINATION tires on it and not like the road noise , will probably move those tires to our Polaris RZR . Would like to go get some MICHELIN tires one or two sizes taller , anybody got some recommendations, Jeep is mainly driven in YUMA or towed behind motorhome have the RZR for dirt .
Thanks Rick
My 2025 Nighthawk came with General Tire A/T 275/50x20 and I couldn't be happier. Not super aggressive/knobby but no noise and excellent road handling. I traded in an AWD Murano which was quite a sleeper, but the Jeep drives like a sports car compared to the soft Nissan body-roll ride.

I'm sure you can find some cheap Falken Wildpeak AT3W Rubicon take offs on Facebook marketplace for cheap. Those are good all around tires
Agreed. The Flakens seem like a very good tire and have shown little if any wear after about 8k in my JTR and are, at least in my opinion, very quiet on the road.

Disclaimer: I had not had a Jeep hardtop anything before my '24 JTR since I bought a new Jeep J10 pickup after high school in 1975 (like 7 other Jeeps in between then and now). So I may have some bias when it comes to road noise and anything in which I can actually hear the radio without blasting it sounds great to me.

Ive been impressed with them as well. Worn nicely, quiet, good offroad. But my only complaint is the OE tires are too soft. I have 30K on them and they need to be replaced already.

I jumped at a set of Maxxis Rzr AT (35"). Love them.
Have you had the falken wildpeak at4w? Just wondering how those compare to the maxxis. I was planning on trying the K03 when my falken at4w 35" go bad.

I had the falken wildpeak mt and hated them. Too slippery and loud. I was all in on KO2s and then a shop in my town suggested maxxis because of the price and the promotions and I took a chance. I will definitely get another set.

Ah, nothing like a tire question to bring out one consistent opinion 🤣

I suggest round ones.

IDK, I had BFG KO2's on my JK and I liked them fine. I just ordered KO3's for my Gladiator.

I just recently changed tires to the Kenda Klever MT2 315's and I freaking LOVE them... The look, the noise is minimal and after some initial off road use, they are performing awesome!

Check out Kuhmo Road Venture AT 51/52. I had 2 sets of 51s (not 51")on my Cherokee and they were solid, quiet, good bite, good price for what needed, I only got stuck for lack of ground clearance. Also, they wore really well, I got about 65k out of the first set, traded it with about 30k on the second set.

You could ask 100 different Jeep owners what tire brand, model, and size they recommend and get 100 different answers. Tires are one of those things that not many people agree on. The tires you hate may be loved by the next guy. If you like Michelins, get them. I understand. I will only buy Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 plus tires for my wife's car.

I don’t care who believes me but I have an opinion on the LTX Defender M/S.

It is very rough going to my ranch. Limestone, River rock in the creeks, and Flint. One trip and you are missing chunks and have slices. I’ve used almost every brand of tire just trying them out and I’ve seen how friend’s and family have faired with their selection.

Nomatter the tires or load ratings, they are usually shot by. 10,000 miles. I’ve never busted of tire but have seen plenty of others, I blame some of that on too much tire pressure.

Anyway, I threw on a set of LTX Defenders and I don’t know what they are made of but they withstood trip after trip and still looked pretty good at 22K miles when I traded the truck.

My driving has mud but with rock bottom.

Pro’s:

Quiet
Insanely tough and even sidewalls didn‘t so much as scuff on rocks
Didn’t hold rocks and if they did, little ones
Wet stuff traction was no worse than my MT or AT tires

Con’s:

I think they suck on wet pavement so slow down
Ice & Snow rating a joke

Point being, if you need a tire to hold up above all else then the LTX Defender does. I think whatever compound they use to make them tough hinders slick pavement traction.

After being utterly astonished at their durability I have actually considered shooting one to see what happens 🤣😂🤣

The tires prior to these were Toyo AT3, they lasted 10K but were great on wet pavement. Tires I’ve seen with the most blowouts, Nitto. I think they are the same company as toyo ?

I have a completely different philosophy concerning Load ratings and plys when it comes to my terrain. Load ratings and plys are meant for holding air and keeping tire shape for loads. It ain’t how many plys, its the strength and makeup of the plys. I believe on something like Jeeps XL’s perform the best.

These dang Factory Falken Wildpeak AT’s suck so far, hold big stones and chunk like crazy. Hardly any stone guards.

The BF Goodrich stuff seems to be made out of a similar compound as the Michelin Defender LTX and have the same hangups on wet stuff to me.

Its either the KM3 Muds or Trail Terrain TA for me, the AT not for me. The AT holds too many rocks on the outside edges where the Trail Terrain TA doesn’t

I have wondered about these tires. I had Kenda MT1 on a 2 Door JL Sport and I liked them. You mind posting some pics of them?

You are the first person I've seen who doesnt like Nitto. I have to ask wh, Im curious. I have Both Nitto and Toyo on 2 of my Jeeps and will be running Toyos on my 3rd Jeep. I have had fantastic results with both Toyo and Nitto.
