Yeah, we do not know all of the story, but PIT might not have been required when the JT was running in the low 90s MPH on the highway.

If I was the owner of the truck, generator, and other items, I would have rather they just let it run out of gas What MPG does a JT get at +90 MPH? But, there may be more to the story as to why the PIT.

The cage held up, though the freedom panels went flying, so that is good to know.
Just a few mph short of top speed. So low 90's is hauling ass and endangering everyone else on the road.

I hope the perp didn't croak, but.....FAFO.

A PIT at 90mph is reckless in and of itself. The cop got lucky the JT went into the grass and not into oncoming traffic. That move at that speed there is no ability to direct where it'll go.
I respectfully disagree. Going from the right rear almost always causes it to go to the right. I've not seen one where it went left. Not saying it can't happen. I just haven't seen it in many, many videos of that maneuver.

We don't know the rest of the story, either. Maybe the perp had a warrent out or history of violent crimes.

Anyway, I hope he didn't pass, but he was playing two stupid games....stealing, then running from the police.

It’s about 50/50 from what I’ve seen. Living an hour from Los Angeles, I’ve seen my share. Most of it comes from the driver over correcting and that’s when the vehicle darts into oncoming traffic.

I have 0 remorse for the thief running from the police, but these PIT maneuver videos make me not want to report my vehicle stolen. Especially in places like Arkansas where it's their go to move. Frequenting the desert south west on the regular where speed limits are 75-80mph and you'll often see semis rolling low 90s I find it hilarious when everyone freaks out about how unsafe 90mph is on the freeway. The JT sees those speeds in the dirt often. I think spike strips are the much better move, especially if your goal is to recover the owners property and not just punish the thief by any means necessary.

These pit maneuvers need to be stopped! There’s absolutely no reason to actually chase most late model vehicles anyway because they all have location devices built in. But it’s nice to see while belted in ours, at the speeds I drive and under control at all times. If someone actually upsets my cart? We should fair very well! If mine were to get stolen, all I need to do is open my app to see exactly where it’s going. Not to mention with the help of the Apple Tag hidden inside, with fresh battery every 6 months or so.

Kudos to the owner. Most of his stuff is still in the bed of the truck. If anyone else loaded it, it would have been a yardsale.

There were a few items that got tossed out.
Talk about securing your load. I would never have that much faith in anything I’ve tied down, I’m always peeking back to double check my work.

Apple tags don't work in rural areas. They require apple devices to be around and within so many feet.

Well, you shouldn't run from police, but if you dont know Arkansas State police reputation for chases you're an idiot.
They are all over YouTube, especially Trooper Byrd 👍

My guess is the owner did the "that's not going anywhere" snap of the tie-down and that made the difference.
