My apologies for for not being timely as I'm way behind on this thread. I know you've already invested in your Ace Sliders, so I can't try to talk you out of them. All I can do is give you a PSA about them so that you don't end up where I did.

Here's a previous post about itfrom a different thread:

My Wrangler is my "real wheelin' rig"; the Gladiator is built out for overlanding. I was doing a SERIOUSLY hard obstacle and dropped down on that slider HARD, which flexed the slider (because of the rubber bushings) which drove the it up into the Rubi Rails and into the tub. My best advice if you are going to do any serious wheeling with your Gladiator is to get a refund on those sliders, sell them on FB marketplace or wherever and get some that weld to the frame. Maybe find a shop that will weld those Ace sliders in and bypass the standard mounting option.
I appreciate it. I don't wheel hard like that. My hobbies are more drums, guns, and bows. I appreciate the heads up.

I installed an Alu-Cab contour! 🙌 been wanting an Alu-Cab bed cap for two+ years now, and we finally could afford one and a deal on base popped up…I couldn’t pass it up!

Only 8 months old, has roughly 5K miles of use out of her. Still brand friggin new inside 😃

As I've been catching up with this thread, I've noticed all the posts over the last 10 pages about winterizing. Here in Arizona I had to wear a long sleeve t-shirt this morning because it was like 72F when I got up.

You read all 2500 pages????????? Wow!

Back in about 2010 or so I visited a friend who owns a restoration shop on the NW side of Phoenix.
It was early Feb. Late afternoon/early evening a bunch of his neighbors and I were standing in his driveway chatting and as evening came, I realized that one by one, they were leaving for a few minutes and coming back - with long pants, some with jackets, long sleeve shirts, whatever (many of his friends and neighbors are car people too)
Finally, I'm the only one left standing there with a short sleeve shirt and short pants, doing just fine - one of them finally pointed and said "look at the Iowa boy - he's loving this!".
Yeah, got into the 60s and they were freezing. I had just received a text from my wife and read it to them - 0 degrees, wind, freezing rain.
You bet I was loving it!

I “lived” that same moment. I moved here 15 years ago from your neck of the woods (2 yrs Sioux City, 4 yrs Council Bluffs, 10 yrs Cedar Rapids) around Christmas time. On my first day of work, I pulled into the parking lot and one of the supervisors that reported to me was waiting at the front door and said he needed to take me to a different part of the property to show me something. I was wearing slacks and a polo shirt and he had a Carhartt and knit cap on. I said “Let’s go”; to which he looked me up and down and replied “You need a coat?” It was 67F. I lol’d and “toughed it out” for the next 10 minutes.

That's truly funny.
Heck, my wife won't wear a coat until it gets into the 40s.
Sioux City? I'll say you lived it.

Yeah, lived in Sioux City and worked in South Sioux, NE. Met my wife in Sioux City. Funny story…after we had dated a few times, I found out that she was actually the tech that had processed my pre-employment drug screen for the job I had in South Sioux. So we tell people that she drug tested me before our first date. Lol

Just installed a Rough Country Hard Roll-Up Tonneau Cover, it’s pretty good I think. It rained last night and only have a few drops of water in the front of the bed.

So it was rather difficult to get the knuckles off had some trouble but front hub assemblies and upper and lower ball joints replaced with metalcloak baller joints.
Steering Oh my Goodness Sooooo much better . Solid and not wandering and overly loose like it had been. Seems to just roll and roll smooth . This makes new rotors brakes e-brakes and ball joints and front wheel hub assemblies aver the last 3 weeks. I am going to ha e to replace my drag link found that it has some slack. My lower ball joints were the culprit . After removal they would just go round and round in the socket and wiggle back and forth just very loose like. The upper were tighter.but now both have been replace @Metalcloak thanks for a great product. Baller Joints if you dont have em get em !!!!

Well this was during the last week.

New rubbers on the truck. Nothing special, 285/70 KO3s. A lot quieter than my choppy Falkens and ride a touch softer too.
